I enjoy volunteering and try to do it regularly. In the past, I have been involved with Habitat for Humanity builds and animal shelters. Recently, I do trail building/stewardship and science outreach for K-12 students, though I wish I had more time to get involved with my community.
I save mini shampoo bottles from hotel stays to wash makeup brushes. No need to spend extra for specialty makeup brush shampoo--it's just a gimmick! Baby powder works great as dry shampoo, too, and clear mascara works wonders to tame fly aways. -- Andrea Woroch
I have volunteered a lot at the schools my daughters attended. I was Room Mother in Elementary school, and treasurer of the Band parents in Middle School. When they were in High school, I was President of the Chorus Boosters, Vice President of Drama Boosters plus Chair of the Uniform Committee for Band/Guard and then Chorus. I volunteer in my community as Chair of the Fine Hearing Committee, which I've done for 20 years.
As a home school family, we have the time to help others. We delver meals on wheels every Tuesday, help with our church food bank, help build/repair a near by Native American village, and go to people's home's to cook/clean when needed.
I have tried to instill a since of thankfullness in my children for living in this great country, and having them helping others is our way of making it a better place to be.
If you volunteer and look forward to it each time, if you are engaged, excited and happy when you volunteer, if you find your brain works harder and you feel smarter and have more self confidence, then you are doing it right. Find the organization that fits you and where you fit with them. Don't give up if you have a bad experience. I have found several passions through volunteering and am a much better person for it
I do not volunteer at this time, but I used to volunteer at the local food bank and help stock food and I helped one year with handing out turkeys for the needy. At this time, I am so busy taking care of an elderly parent and helping a disabled sister.
I do. It's not necessarily super time consuming - attend board meetings and write articles for a publication, but it's for causes that I care about. I hope to add more hours and do more volunteer work once my debt is paid off, though.
Jason you are right on. I think by enlisting a point person, you are not hogging the finances, but you're the go-to person for day-to -day issues. The other person absolutely needs to be involved, know what is going on, help make joint decisions and you both need to come together weekly to talk about what's going on. Good points though!
I do volunteer, but mostly when my company supports an event. I do want to do more personal volunteering, as I think it's not only rewarding, but also gives me better perspective on life (and how fortunate I am).
We do a lot of volunteering through my church: soup kitchen, homeless housing, etc. We used to volunteer with the scouts, both genders, when the kids were younger. I am currently treasurer of our square dance club, if that counts. Also, in the middle of the summer, our family goes with another group to Appalachia to help with house projects. And my quilt guild does a raffle quilt each year with the proceeds going to charity.
been looking for a camper on Craigs list, the last two really good deals I've called on have answered saying person at extension bla bla bla is not available, so i text the number, it text back and said the camper belong to his mother and for me to email her at and gave me an email address, pretty sure its a scam, just wondering what they might use my email and phone # for, since that's all they'll be getting. Anyone know?

There are so many easy ways to clean the air. With some cool tips, you can eliminate the bad odors and smoke particles from air. The air entering into your house can be pured with growing air purifying plants into your home.
I volunteered at my son's baseball concession stand. Previously I would volunteer at the local nursing home.
In the past I volunteered with grieving children. I just moved but I hope to find a similar opportunity here!
My volunteer experience was helping out in a sheltor during the holidays to feed the homeless.
I volunteer with the park service when I get a chance

I volunteer helping those who have just experienced the sudden death of a loved one.
I would love to buy off Amazon, except that Australians can't really buy off amazon.... -_-
Thanks though.

I volunteer when I have time and have learned patience and compassion.
I don't right now, but I would like to get more involved in doing work with kids in inner city schools.
