It can be tricky trying to monitor water usage when living with roommates, but I only do full loads of laundry, turn off the tap when I'm brushing my teeth, and try to take quick showers.
Anything which reduces the risk that your car will be stolen will reduce their risk that they will need to pay a theft claim. - Make sure you have an up-to-date international driver`s license. This reduces the risk of default for the insurance company.
I just came across this sight. I love reading all the uses for witch hazel. I have been using on my face for adult acne. It works! Will start using for more things. Thanks for all the info.
Thanks Brett! It's a life-changing revelation for sure, and I hope this article helps others experience what you and I both have found to be so powerful.
Brushing will remove food debris from your teeth, but it doesn't really resolve bad breath. Keep a bottle of mouthwash in your desk or carry a small breath spray in your pocket or bag to chase the skunk away.
Very poor advice, in my opinion. For most people, losing weight is a matter of calories in/calories out. Maintain a modest calorie deficit below your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) and you'll lose weight, even if you eat white flour, smoothies, and dried fruit. Some people do have medical issues such as insulin resistance that make weight loss harder and requires a different macro balance than is generally recommended. What are the nutritional qualifications of the author to make these unsupported and unscientific statements? Dispensing nutritional advice should be done only by a Registered Dietician or qualified health professional.
This is a great list! I still think a college education is a great buy in the right circumstances: to "get an education", not to live in a country club for 4 years.
I'm now 48 years old and I've been enjoying hostels since I was 20 years old. I can't see why I should pay extra money for a room to sleep in. Besides you meet more interesting people at hostels than at the Holiday Inn.
Thanks, Kristin! And I'm going to send all of those compliments right back to you -- you're super funny and smart, and your personal finance pieces are some of my favorites out there. See you around the Internet... or maybe face-to-face. MAYBE.
Lars, you're going to make me tear up! You're smart, sharp, and such a delight to work with. It's been such a pleasure, and yes -- I hope our professional paths cross again too.
We love our rucola pesto, in which recipe the basil has been substituted by rucola. The other ingredients are the same as in the normal pesto recipe. If you think the rucola pesto is too strong, too sharp, you can add an amount of mascarpone cheese to soften the taste.
Yes, Florida has none of those taxes, but I took a course on handling wills & estates; the instructor stated that Florida has VERY high probate court fees compared to the rest of the nation. Of course, there are ways to avoid probate, but I'm pretty sure most seniors don't care enough to look into it (I can barely get my own parents to write their wills, let alone look into something as detailed as how probate works).
Also, even if you are not planning on doing a lot of traveling, seniors should consider living reasonably (less than an hour) close to a major airport if they don't live close to friends or family. If you get sick or need help, living further from the airport makes it that much harder for loved ones to get to you to help you out. My in-laws live 60-90 minutes from the closest major airport; that combined with the fact that there are no direct flights from us to them makes it difficult to get to them fast if necessary (and there have been times recently where we were needed to go and help them out during times of surgery & recovery).
I have been in the Dollar Shave club for about a year ($6. month) and have a stockpile of blades. I have learned a few great tips here that inspired me to cancel my subscription today. Has anyone tried a product that is mostly sold at Farmers Markets called Lonz? http://www.lonzworld.com/
Congrats on the new gig, Meg! And thanks for introducing me to WiseBread. I still think it's awesome that I knew you from "real life" first, and then went on to know you in PF circles.
Your writing, anywhere, is great stuff. And you're one damn funny woman. Hope to see your stuff here every so often!
To save water we wash on shorter cycles, save rain water to water our plants and garden, turn off the water when brushing our teeth, and make sure all our faucet drips are fixed when they happen(those can sure add up overnight if you collect those little drops)!
This truly is a bittersweet day. Congratulations on the new gig!
I've looked forward to seeing your name pop-up in the staff Skype chat window every working day over the past couple of years that we've worked together. Just knowing you were on the other side of the window to answer a quick query, or to share a fun link or story idea, or to commiserate about a grammar goof I'd missed and let go live was comforting. Meg's here. Everything's fine.
The integrity and grit you demonstrated every day -- even in the small things that are sometimes let go when one is tired, even in the tasks we are sometimes loathe to do -- pushed me to up my standards to match (I'm still reaching). I've grown as an editor and a writer the past couple of years -- and most of that is due to the professional example you provided. The workday won't be the same without you.
Goodbye and good luck and fingers crossed that our professional paths cross again.

Using the water caught by the dehumidifier to water plants.

i water the garden 5 mins less everyday and set it in the middle of the night when it's cooler
Buy and reselling an expensive watch is something best left to those who have experience doing it. Even then it is still a risky venture.

I have http://www.couponwind.com useful for online clothing coupons. They have up to 50% off promotions.
I always turn the water off when not in use...while washing dishes, brushing teeth, etc.

My favorite hostel is Mamallena in Panama City.

Number one should be "Good hospitals".
I really liked the idea of using two switches for flush... we can save large amount of water.
The last law is still there in India as per Income tax Act 1961.
