I look forward to the implementation of single-payer healthcare in the USA in 2014, and on a personal level, nothing would please us more than the financial ability for my husband to retire.
Yes! My husband and I are so fortunate right now to have a circle of friends in our new town that are even more frugal than we are (aka don't seem to want/need ANY luxuries!), and it makes all the difference. Friends in our old town were similar, and it helps us so much to have their support and constant example. They keep me grounded and encouraged as someone who has learned to be frugal but is a spender by nature. It is much easier than being around the handful of friends we don't see very often who are shocked and offended by how little we want to go out and spend money!
Looking forward to better health, adjusting to living on one income in our household, and paying off the last of our debt from moving towns and temporary underemployment.
I love New Year's because I get excited that it's like turning a new page in a book. It's a new start for new goals! I try to include financial, healthy living, and family and personal goals for each year.
There is no value in paying a load plus high fees. I am in the investment management industry and I can tell you from experience, if you want to invest in stocks open an account with vanguard and buy the S&P 500 (no load and the fee is less than .1%). Then Forget about it and let the compounding work for you.
