When I just have the common stomache ache, I usually just have a plain cracker, like the SAO ones that have no salt. Another good tea for stomache problems is sage tea.
My dad, around 56, drinks coke, and only coke. The only time he has anything other than that is whens he's eating cereal, he drinks the milk. He has at least 2 cans a day, because he wont finish them in one sitting. He has never had ANY health problems, and no kidney stones. He also has used it for about 50% of the uses on the list. He has had no issues with drinking it every day. He's tall, fit, healthy, and happy. But when he drank mountain dew for a month, couple cans a day, around 2, things happened, so he stopped and went back to coke. But we all know mountain dew is terrible for you, although i like it. What I'm trying to say is coca cola cant be all that bad for you. It might actually have benefits. Anyone who objects to things, please keep it to yourself.
I shop at yard sales all year so when I see something that might make a costume I buy it. It goes in a Halloween storage bin. A few weeks before Halloween the kids look in there and find their own costumes. So fun and they can be super creative.
Great suggestions! I've been a roller (instead of a folder) for a long time.
I try to remember to replenish my toiletries bag when I get home from a trip. So when it's time for the next trip, I'm set to go. Even the cheap hotels provide shampoo, so that's one thing I never pack.
I just try to stop and remember what I have gotten done recently, since I'm usually stressed or down on myself because of all the stuff looming on the horizon.
Borrowers putting down less than 20% can get a discount on private mortgage insurance when they take a qualified home buyer education class. Even better, home buyer classes may qualify you for closing cost or down payment assistance programs to save you even more.
Our popular neighborhood attracts 600+ kids looking for treats. Candy gets very expensive.
Instead, we have a small party for our friends who live in rural areas where they don't get trick-or-treaters. I make a big pot of chili and a dessert and all my guests bring a large bag of candy to contribute.
Yeah, the Energy Star site is a little clunky and it's hard to link to some of the data directly.
The detail on the 14%-20% increase in energy usage for the icemaker is hidden behind the "Buying Guide" tab on that page.
Here's the actual guidance:
"Consider skipping the ice-maker and dispenser.
Automatic ice-makers and through-the-door dispensers increase energy use by 14-20%. They also raise the purchase price by $75-250."
I wait until the night before Halloween to "buy" my treats. Here is how we do it...We take the kids to "Fall Festivals' prior to the "BIG NIGHT". Just before Halloween, I have the kids empty all the candy & prizes they have collected onto the bed. Now the fun begins....I look at all the candy (to make sure its all safe) and start bidding on it. It's usually for stuff they don't normally want. The kids get a bag of pocket change, and keep only the sweets they LOVE. I put all that candy in a huge bowl and give it out for treat or treaters! Should I feel we won't have enough, I have time to buy more from the store. So far I have "bought" enough from my kids that i have leftovers. This ends up WAAAY cheaper for me as candy is off the chain this time of year and my lids end up with candy AND money.
You forgot one. "Carnival of Souls" is ineptly acted, poorly shot, BUT... as a whole it works. It's the best "bad" movie (in the sense that it's not unintentionally funny) out there. I have the musical score on my Halloween playlist. Creepy stuff that'll get into your head.
I wonder how that could be when the icemaker only makes ice as you use it. When the icemaker is full, no ice is being made and it would seem no extra energy being used. And the fact that you do not have to open the door to the freezer to get ice with a through the door ice dispenser would seem like an energy saver to me. The cold air from the freezer does not get lost into the room and the freezer does not have to be cooled back down.
Also, nowhere on the Energy Star website could I find the 14-20% increase in electric use you say it adds.
Great post! This is my first time in this site. Thank you for sharing these links. I have read the link on 10 Time Management Tips from Personal Finance Bloggers: #FinCon13 Edition. I will definitely check other links.
All my lower paying jobs just led to even lower paying job offers. Nothing good ever came from me accepting the low paying job offers. I'm an IT professional (Microsoft Systems Administrator/Analyst) with 20+ years experience, bachelors degree, 4 technical certifications (network+, security+, mcse, mcts) and the offers I'm getting are $35,000! As far as accepting a low paying job offer...all it ever did for me was ruin my career. At 52 years old I'm pretty much finished. 20 years ago I was making about $65,000 and I should be at a much higher salary than that now with my increased skills and experience and certifications etc... It's depressing.
I have found that if you pinch the area right after you get the tingle for a minute or so that the cold sore does not form. Has anyone else experienced this?
My Friend has not paid his mortgage in over (3) years and he still occupies his home. It is very discouraging for all of us who do uphold their obligations.
His lender is Bank of America, he lives in NJ; specifically Hamilton Township
a toaster.. constant draw if plugged in (and slight fire hazard)..I used a electric meter and couldn't believe it... same with the toaster oven.. even when not in use.. drew some watts.
computers.. I actually saved $30 the first month I put my computer into sleep mode from 1am to 8am which included monitors.. I saved another $10 a month by switching to a Mac Mini from a huge beast of a home-built i7 PC Tower... laptops use a lot less than that.
biggest surprise on the opposite end..
lightbulbs..
I changed them all up to CFL's .... didn't notice a huge difference in my bill.
Summary.. it's the constant on products that really add-up.
$10 may not seem like much, but that is quite a jump. Luckily I have the Amazon Prime subscription which easily pays for itself after a couple of orders.
Not all thrift stores are charitable. There are dozens of "thrift" stores in my city that are for profit resale stores. And some, like Vietnam Veterans, lease their name to for profit stores for a tiny percent of the profits.

Olive oil isn't on the plant-based diet, i thought?
How about: Look up one of your favorite blogs and leave a positive comment?
I look for candy coupons and start buying candy a month in advance. I also sew my own costumes.

We buy candy when it is one sale.
I only buy candy on sale with coupons and then I hide it to make sure we don't eat it all ourselves before the big day.

Few things that I know of that surprised me...

No worries! I took care of it. :) See you at the chat!
As a bubble wrap popper, THANK YOU for sharing the umbrella jellyfish! It's...it's wonderful.
