I would rather give a Girl Scout Troop $5 in cash than buy a box of their cookies where a small percentage of the proceeds trickle down into the troops cash box.
Thank you for this piece. I had never heard of Gen Z prior to reading this. The criticism of Millennials has really ticked me off, and I sense that this will be extend to Generation Z. Full disclosure: I am a happily middle-aged Generation X-er who has been married almost 20 years and is child-free by choice. I am inspired by Millennials and Generation Z; they are entrepreneurial, values-driven, accepting of others, and have a good balance of realism and idealism.
I look forward to seeing them succeed and I applaud their moxie. Moreover, I am sick and tired of criticisms that they are "entitled" and "everyone gets a trophy." I find it refreshing that they believe everyone is "entitled" to being treated fairly and with respect. If giving everyone a trophy could achieve this, we should ramp up production stat. My generation is jaded and beat down; these younger generations give me hope for my nation and my world.
I look forward to hearing more about this generation and how we can support them in pursuing a more just and verdant future. Really well done.
I do try to at least do a closet clean-out and donate the cold weather clothes that I didn't wear during the winter season. I also try to tackle home maintenance projects that I've been putting off.
Do not change your financial practices. Do not pay anyone back or buy an expensive car or anything before talking with an attorney. You can ruin your case before it even begins.
This is me to a "T". Following policies and expecting authority figures to do the same, at O'Reilly Auto Parts has been emotionally, mentally, and very stressful. I thoroughly enjoyed my job, until Brandi Jordan was hired. Medications helps with the bullying, but I don't understand why policies and rules aren't the same for all employees.
Her friend at work has disappeared, waiting for her, (maybe), involvement to come to light. Since she was a fired from another local auto parts store here in town, I wonder if it had something to do with lying and stealing?....
I used to help my mom spring clean, but I don't do my own house b/c I don't have any time off. My mom taught school, so she would spring clean the first week of her summer break. I so should have become a teacher!
Who's getting a tax refund? Why let the govt use your money all year long interest free? We use our money all year and pay a little bit instead. It's all about balancing your withholding and saving up for tax time. It's not that difficult!
You make this sound so difficult. It isn't all that bad. The stuff on rv's are fairly easy to learn. Setup is not much more that going to any park, except you are going to be there more permentaly.
Oh, man - FOMO is so lame! I once had a boyfriend who was similar to your friend, always trying to find the bigger, better deal. Finally, I started saying to him, "THIS IS IT! This is where the party's at! F*cking enjoy it already! " I hope he finally gets it now.
I used to get mild FOMO, but usually that means I just need a social media fast. What has really been a problem for me lately is when *other* friends get FOMO and try to guilt me into joining them. UGH, I've wasted so much money to peer pressure.
Good eye! The headings in this article are the original 7 Habits of Highly Effective People from Stephen Cover's book. I found that these habits apply to highly frugal people today.
Hi I'm going through something like this were I worked 40 hours a week and they laid off my position and offered me the 7?12 shift which I declined so I filed unemployment and was denied now I'm appealing but I was wondering if you could let me know what you said to win the unemployment? Thanks in advance!
We do spring clean! Some of the major areas for us are the closets and cabinets. It's so easy for things to get lost or forgotten so doing a seasonal overhaul is always a great idea!
I don't necessarily do a deep clean, but I usually take the opportunity to go through my closets and get rid of clothes that I have not worn. It's nice donating items to those in need!
Vacations with our kids. Never spent better money!

We do a cleaning in Fall and Spring, and we go to Red Robin for a reward.
I've also worked as a server so when I'm dining out I'll treat them the way I love being treated whn I'm working.

Hoping for the light to shine!
Yes I do a spring cleaning where we move the furniture and clean under it
I don't do spring cleaning
I moved to a smaller place in 2014 and got rid of a lot of stuff to do so. No reason to spring clean these days.
Number 9 should be number 1 on the list! The most important thing is to become debt free.

I am a recently retired high school English teacher with superb writing skills. Does anyone have any advice on how I can put this to use?

I like your points. Modern version of keeping up with the Joneses for the current gen. I particularly like the iphone 3.1415 ref.

I spring clean by cleaning the house and gathering items to donate.
