I don't get to travel since I have stage 4 lung cancer. My dream vacation would be with my whole family going to Senoia, GA, where The Walking Dead is filmed and touring and, hopefully, getting to meet some of the cast, especially Norman Reedus.
I would travel to Tanzania and hike Kilimanjaro for a week, then go on a safari in Serengeti National Park and hike through Ngorongoro Crater. Lastly I would travel to Lake Victoria and see the largest lake in Africa.
For only 20 bucks me and my BF could go on a daycation/vacation and go to the Chincoteague National Seashore and buy ice cream afterwards in town! (No need to provide a picture of me in a bathing suit, haha.)
My dream vacation would definitely be Disney World! I'd sync it up to a small trip to the beach as well, but mostly the focus on Disney and just enjoying pretending to be a kid
Up the Gold Coast Highway off of highway 89 in the Sierra Buttes in California there s a collection of 66 lakes and countless trails to hike.. I'd like to spend a month exploring all of the natural beauty that is available without a price tag! One needs to just show up!
My dream vacation would be a food and wine tour of Europe with a friend. We'd spend a few days in each country sampling the different dishes and wines and tour vineyards. I think I'd probably want to spend a little longer in places like Switzerland and Italy to take in the scenery and culture, not to mention the desserts and baked goods.
Six years ago, Hubby and Son went to Uganda on a mission trip. They built a schoolroom for AIDS orphans for one week, then went on a safari for a week. I foresee several of those trips in retirement. Throw in a quilt store and I'm happy. (Not that I expect quilt stores in Uganda, but there might be one in South Africa!)
Has anyone used their credit card to pay the IRS for a huge amount of taxes and get reward points (paying off the card bill within a month from the money set aside for the taxes)?
ya cuz yur in the kingdom of capitalizing upon others. more cheats and scammers allowed there than any modern nation would allow. more than developing world now too! most corrupt wasteful biggest bankrupt govt in history setting the standard. no surprise
If the merchandise is donated, then why would people shop in retail stores, instead of thrift stores? Retailers would take a profit hit, and end up reducing their workforce. Giving everything to charities for a tax write off sounds good, but ultimately hurts retail's bottom line. If I knew I could find it cheaper at the thrift store, then why bother shopping at full retail? Yes, I have worked at several retail stores that "destroyed" merchandise rather than donating, and no, it doesn't take more time to destroy than donate, if using a compactor.
I think seeing people who are not popular as affecting moral is ridiculous. What are we in grade school or are we professionals able to work with people we do not like. This certainly is not a reason to fire people. I know they are firing people who do a good job for not being popular these day. I sure miss the days when management expected these people to act like adults and work with people whether they like them or not. When management did not fire good employees just because they were not popular. It is a business not the playground at elementary school
There is more mystery than facts in this article. What did they live on while they had no jobs. Did they sell their house, inherit money from someone, have a large savings to begin with. Wisebread, If you're going to write an article, please fill us in.
These are all really good ideas!!! Thanks so much!!! I especially liked the one about thanking the police men, they are an integral part of our society and most people just take them for granted
My dream vacation is to go to the Caribbean and bring my husband with me! It would be a romantic getaway!

My dream vacation would be to swim in the many seas of the world. My daughter has been my ideal travel partner, but I would bring my husband for some.

I want to buy a new house.
1) Pay down mortgage by paying extra each month, 2) Keep emergency savings fund intact, 3) Save up for a family vacation

My goal is to save 5% of my pay check each month
Very high gas prices didn't last forever. It's worth remembering that low oil prices
won't either.....
My financial goal is to save towards a vacation.
Pay off dental and medical bills.
I plan to pay down more on my car loan and keep trying to save for a future home.

To develop a healthy savings account, develop a emergency fund account and to add to our down payment for a new home

In Australia not one thing here applies. Maybe follow the Aussie way of selling. This is all off the movie suckers, real life is a lot different
I'd like to save enough to do some home repairs with cash.
