My husband and I go to the card store together and pick out our cards, hand them to each other, read them and then put them back....no need to spend 10 dollars
This article should be titled, "How to be a Landlord that Avoids any Potential Risk."
Accepting pets and the damage that may or may come with it is a great way to make more money on a rental, if you mark up accordingly and take a deposit. Pet owners tend to move less often, which means you don't have to look for a tenant all the time.
Also, my car is a total mess, but I'm a neat freak inside my house, so that assumption is bogus.
We don't usually go out on the day of Valentine's day - too crowded - so save money by staying at home or going out on another night of the weekend. We also don't exchange gifts but rather save our money for a trip or something for the house.
I make a special dinner at home and we turn it into a date night with a romantic comedy movie. We agreed a long time ago, no flowers or chocolate or jewelry on Valentine's Day.
Thanks a lot! Actually you made my day. I am trying to do so to people, and I've already called the first two days. I wish I succeeded today by making your day.
I really appreciate this article, is the best I've read from ages!
We don't usually go out since every restaurant is packed on Valentine's Day. We often just get a pizza and enjoy it at home, play board games or watch movies, just relaxing, casual, inexpensive stuff. We will sometimes buy a good dessert to share at home, something from a bakery or some fancy chocolates, but that's about it. We stopped exchanging gifts for holidays many years ago, since we prefer to save up for vacations instead of material goods.
The way I save for Valentine's day, is by making a meal at home. it's easier and actually a lot less stressful than going out to eat. Yes, going out to eat is nice... but not on the most popular day of the year for couples! So, as long as hubby gives me a nice backrub, I'm happy.

Hubby used rewards points from the exercise program run by his health insurance to get me a fitbit HR. We usually make a heart-healthy dinner at home. Too much of a zoo to out!
Wait! People actually include property taxes and insurance in a mortgage payment? That sounds a little crazy to me. Why not include gas, electric and landscaping too?
We opt for a personal and very intimate evening in: order take-out sushi and eat it on the coffee table with candles, a bottle of inexpensive wine, and an easy chocolate dessert. We also typically watch a romantic movie from RedBox or a streaming service. Great evening in!
We like buying a special cut of meat or fresh seafood and cooking together at home. Great food and great company make for a special day.
We avoid celebrating on the actual weekend, and opt for before or after.

Simple, we don't really celebrate it. Just a home cooked meal like always!

We're visiting the local $1 movie theatre! Second-run movies, but we don't care!
I save money by just buying a card.

I try to save money on Valentine's Day by looking into Valentine's Day deals at resturants. I also use coupons to buy flowers.
