I own leather furniture but I have run into a dilemma of sorts. My couches are made of a combination of smooth leather and actual animal hide. Do you have any thoughts on cheaper ways that I could clean and maintain the furniture that I bought at http://www.Brumbaughs.com? Traditional creams and other chemicals do not really do the trick.
"Your boss can get away with paying you less than minimum wage, because there's an expectation you'll get tips. But we all know that's hit or miss."
If your restaurant worker minimum wage of $2.13 + tips do not equal at least $7.25, the restaurant business must make up the difference.
Restaurant workers, then, must make at least $7.25/hr. If they get more due to tips, well and good. Of course, tips are pooled with all the servers and the kitchen workers. And, despite the customers not being obligated to tip at all, the IRS considers tips wages, not gifts. So out of their miserable earnings comes 6.2% FICA (Social Security), 1.45% Medicare tax and 1040 withholding tax.
I'm single mom and soon to be an empty nester - I currently live in a 3400 sq ft home. Two of my three daughters are grown up and visit for the holidays. My youngest is still in college and will continue to come home for every academic vacation she has. I've always wanted to have space for my daughters to come visit whenever they want. I know they will bring significant others and perhaps children in the future - However, finding a place that is as comfortable as our current home is not going to happen especially since I want to live on the water and the price per sq ft is so high! I'm coming to terms with the idea of downsizing and creatively dealing with our space when everyone coincides. I'm about to close on a 2-2 house that is almost 1500 sq ft - I will convert a screened porch area into a sunroom/3rd bedroom space, and I will make sure I get a few air mattresses. I feel being a paddle or a bike ride away from the beach will be enough to keep bringing my kids back to me - At this point I will rather invest in a space surrounded by beautiful nature because that's what I want and I'm the one that will live there alone for 90 per cent of the time!
Unfortunately, as a lender i can say a credit report is not good for a year. Possibly for a pre-qualification, but to obtain a loan, mortgage, lease etc regulations require ut to be done upon appication and prior to closing if the dates are more than 30 days apart. For rental agreements the standard is 90 days max, however i also have rentals and i would never accept someone handing me a copy of their own credit report, especially if it was more than 30 days old. This is the case where you will have to pay for it. Large lenders may not charge, but landlords always do.
Otherwise, many valid points. Im not one to ever really focus much on money saving, but perhaps i will give some of these a try.
Yes! I keep both of these things. The tape keeps me from buying things that won't work or missing out on a great piece for a good deal because I'm unsure of dimensions.
The list keeps me honest. If it's not on my list of needs and wishes, I know I probably shouldn't buy it.
I think health insurance should be free..the costs are ridiculously high. And they ( the insurance company) have the option of denying the treatment your Dr says you NEED! Too much bureaucracy on the side off and in advantage of the government and insurance companies... And really NO HELP to citizens who cant aggord it.
All great suggestions! But don't forget that free WiFi connection can be had at your public library too. Many libraries also offer museum passes that will get you in at a discounted price if not for free. Never underestimate the value of your library card!!
I would argue that the gym membership is not a waste of money for some people (the kind who actually use it). If you're the type to use the different types of cardio machines and the free weights or the pool, then it's a worthwhile expense. Most have neither the money nor the space to equip their living spaces with the wide variety of equipment the gym offers. If you actually use it regularly and vary your routine, it's a wise investment in your health.
The condiment suggestion might work for an adult-only household that rarely uses them, but would never work in my house with younger kids who LOVE their condiments. Maybe instead of worrying about the money spent on a $2 bottle of ketchup, folks should frequent these places less and spend less eating out.
I seem to remember this from a couple of years ago.
Seriously, dude? You're advocating getting napkins and condiments
from restaurants? You want us all to have to start paying for those
in restaurants too?
A measuring tape and a list of things I'm looking for on an index card. When I work on a quilt I look for specific color schemes, so snippets of fabric attached to the card help tremendously. The tape was especially useful when I bought the kids clothes for them, as sizes change with manufacturer It's great too when we're looking for furniture.
this is great. I'm trying to pay my student loans off so I need a good list. we have a Market basket which has comparable prices to this list. Thank goodness for them.
I always make my own food, not just to save money (which it certainly does) but also to know what is in my food and eat a good clean diet. Excellent advice, especially when you are out to work everyday and get caught eating 'on the hop' you can only really choose from what the shops have to offer nearby, which could be both expensive and unhealthy!
If you are shopping for special corrections like astigmatism, you may not be able to shop online.
Do not think online shopping for glasses is very good choice if you are overweight. Will end up with bowing frames that pinch sides of your face. You need to try on frames at store to get good idea of fit if you are overweight.
Easier to shop your local eye Dr optical shops for cheapest deals. Sadly the retail stores like Walmart, Sears and JcPenneys often have too much small print on special offers to really get a good deal.
Good Post!!! I can now analyse that there are many loopholes in my budget. I loved the post "16 Things to Get Rid of in 2016 " which will guide of better ideas. Thanks.
Great article from Parenting Squad about how to save money this month. I have always felt the best sales were after Christmas so it's nice to see someone is actually seeing this.
News papers will never be replaced by the internet. They give us local stories, indepth series and adds that we use in our everyday lives,
Taking extra condiments, napkins, etc equates with stealing to my mind.

Any suggestions for permanent hair removal without electrolysis or laser?
Library card.
I've been looking into starting some freelance writing. Thank you for sharing these websites. I'm sure they will be lucrative endeavours.
This is the year that I want to get serious about eating healthier.
