Great ideas. Here in L.A. things are a little higher. Went to get eggs the other day at the store, 1 dozen large eggs were $5.00 per. Still a pretty good deal but oh my!
My #1 resolution is to adjust our family's diet to be more plant based, with less dairy and only 1-2 meals with meat a week. We are 50/50 right now with meat but I think we can eat even less and not truly miss it. But that means I need to find new recipes!
I make my resolutions in November. That way after the busy holiday, I have already been working on my new me. I found this way I have a better chance of keeping them and I can focus on other New year jobs like organizing.
I'm from Australia and have earnt over $15,000 simply referring people for solar through www.solarrefer.com.au where you simply input their details and if that person buys they pay minimum $100 usually as a visa gift card for each sale!!
While I agree one should mix up the types of rice in the pantry, people should be aware that brown rice 'keeps' for a far shorter period than white rice at room temperature (something to do with the oils in it). So don't keep on hand more than you will use in a few months time so it doesn't go to waste! One I'd like to add to the list-barley. It costs me roughly $1.50 a pound and not only is a great 'stretcher' in soup, it can be turned into side dishes for dinner by adding some veggie bits and seasoning, or breakfast with some honey and cut up fruit bits. Cheap, healthy, and full of fiber to keep you full for quite a while.
I'm choosing to live my life this year with the theme of "upgrade" in my back pocket. If I don't like something, I want to upgrade it so I do like it. Do my friends suck? Find other people that don't. Does my budget fall short each month? Take on a side-hustle to gather back the reigns. It's all about upgrading every shortcoming in the best way possible in order to adore the life I lead every day.
Last year I decided to cut out cow and fast food from my diet. This year I'm cutting out pork and eating a handful of spinach everyday. It's going to be hard to cut out the bacon!
How are you being taken advantage of if she pays $275 & splits your cost in half? Costs you've had for years? It seems to me, if you charge her market rates for rent, especially if it creates $1,000 a in month profit, you are taking advantage of her. I guess it depends on the nature of the relationship. Getting married or living together? Are you testing the waters for marriage or planning to live together indefinitely? How would you treat your best friend, a family member, or a stranger? Do you want to be a landlord or a life partner? I don't need to know, but I think these are questions you need to ask yourself. You also need to ask an accountant about rental income & the IRS & maybe talk to a lawyer about domestic partnership agreements and landlord/tenant laws. You may not be able to just kick her out if you break up, especially if you are making a big profit off of her.
I want to work on reading at least 2 books a month. I've selected books I know I'll be interested in and am making time to read before going to bed every night.
Bacon - $2.30 a package? Not around here ever. The other ideas are pretty good.
my resolution is to TRAVEL MORE!!
To try and do new things more often and get out of my rut.
