I'm a Costco shopper myself. I own a house so I can buy a lot of non perishable good and skip a trip for next. Also i dont need to hunt for sales an coupons as most stuff are cheap enough. Makes it more convenient for me.
In Colorado we (moment of silence, please) don't have Trader Joe's. Without question, that was the hardest adjustment we had to make coming from California, where Two Buck Chuck still is... two bucks.
It didn't take us long to buy a hard-sided file box with wheels, which is exactly the right size for a box of 2BC. Every time we had work in a TJ state, we'd check the box in empty and check it in full on the way back. One time in Seattle, as we were checking it in at the United counter, the lady looked at the odd shaped box and asked, suspiciously, "What's in there?"
Being the honest sort, we said it was a box of 2BC. "Oh no," she said, "We can't take that."
My wife gave her a puppy dog look and said, "We don't have Trader Joe's in Colorado. This is the only thing we can do!"
"Really??" the attendant said. "Well, in that case..." and off it went. The sympathy for our cause is universal.
So Costco wins for the moment, but only because TJ has been kept out of CO by the liquor store lobby.
In the meantime, we discovered Cost Plus is a good enough substitute. Until next year, when Trader Joe's makes its debut in Boulder.
We've found wood furniture and lamps on the street. Both can be washed down with bleach water. Rewiring a lamp is not a complex procedure and may not be necessary. I have a pole lamp that just needed spray paint. Also ask around. If someone is moving or knows someone who is, they may prefer to give something or sell it cheaply.
There are a couple of times a week when I have a late meeting or class and I'll stop and pick up something from a nearby restaurant. Half the time it could be from a "fast food" type restaurant and half the time it will be from a better restaurant.
I would say I "Drink" fast food more than I Eat it. I get Starbucks one in a while but I get Mcdonald's Medium Iced Coffee way more than I should for $2.05 every time. I tend to eat fast food more on the weekends and I usually get something like a big mac meal at mcdonalds or a burrito from my local mexican restaurant. I usually opt for the burrito if Im hungover.
I recently received a card in the mail, however it was sent to a neighbor's address. It was directly from Netspend. My Postal deliverer noticed my name at another address, and because she felt a credit card through the envelope, she suspected a potential ID theft scheme. She handed it directly to me with her warning. I did a Google check and read the above post and figured that Netspend was soliciting me. However less than a week later I get a similar card from PayPal with whom I have an account to facilitate online purchases. Again, it was handed to me from my Postal deliverer. It too was addressed to a neighbor's house - a different address than before but a number off. I was given a similar warning. Because it was from PayPal, I had stronger suspicions and contacted PayPal using my online account page as opposed to the info that came with the card. I got bounced around to a few operators, but PayPal acknowledged that "they" sent the card. I confirmed that my address was correct on the PayPal account. I made it known that I did not order any direct deposit debit card of any sort through PayPal. I was apparently dealing with a couple of "outsourced" operators and I kept demanding to speak with security. Somehow, I ended up with an "insourced" operator who said he was with security and we seemed to understand each other better.. more like my needs were being met. I learned that this card was actually and Netspend card affiliated with PayPal. Nothing suspicious. But I learned also that the cards sent through the mail AND THIS IS IMPORTANT!! was a permament card to replace a temporary card purchased at a local convenient store. It was opened with a minor cash deposit in my name and the addresses listed on the envelopes when mailed to "me." Bottom line regarding my calls was that Netspend is aware of my name being used to open Netspend accounts. They closed the two accounts and suggested that I take defensive measures throught the credit bureaus. It might seem innocuous as to why an ID thieve would open a direct deposit debit card if they are the ones who have to put money into the account. When in fact, it's these accounts where they can divert monies from one of my accounts through direct deposit to a debit account in my name to which they have a temporary card. I don't believe that they cared about a permanent card. I am still going through an investigation to see where I'm vulnerable or have been ripped off. Hopefully, the scheme was caught in time. However I don't feel confident that some theft has been averted. I'll see...
Once a month, maybe. And i only go for Bojangles fried chicken, it is my only diet cheat. Otherwise, we cook way better food than we can get anywhere else. We even yave people over when they suggest going out for dinner.
We used to be really bad about eating fast food, but lately we've been doing really well on just eating at home. Eating fast food isn't cheap, even when it seems like it up front!
I move every three years because my husband is in the military. I can tell you that one way that I've found to save money is to go to a grocery store or WalMart late night to ask if you can have their empty boxes. They end up crushing them anyway, so they don't usually mind handing some over. Never buy stuff from moving companies - it's just too expensive. Thanks!

Bring your cameras - it will be chaos! :)

Only when we are traveling. About once a month
Maybe twice a month, and it's usually for convenience sake.
I follow you on Twitter and tweeted about the giveaway.

I eat fast food about 3 times a week. Once I'll have breakfast,
and twice lunch, on average.....

I "like" you on FB! (Yay!)

We only eat fast food about once a week and when we do it is usually at the places offering healthier choices.

Never. I have celiac disease so that pretty much counts out everyone, plus I live Paleo. No nasty food for me!
I like you on FB
I already like WiseBread on Facebook
I eat fast food a couple times a week, but I avoid burger joints. I mostly eat fast food when I'm rushed for time or on the road.
I eat fast food 2-3 times per month. While it is cheap, it's definitely not healthy!
Maybe 2-3 times a year when on long drives, out of town, etc. But it definitely isn't a habit!
