Is there anyone I can contact for help with this? I am paying over 9% and my mortgage company will not even talk about a refi. They are getting too much of my money for that. I am now in only fair credit and my home value has dropped so that I owe more on my home than I will ever get for it. I can only see going into forclosure but I need help figuring out my options. I could pay it easily if I could get refinanced at near today's rates. I am too abused by this mess to trust myself with decisions.
Loved the article..I am about to receive an inheritance and wanted to ask for some advice.. i want to buy tho houses with the inheritance and rent them out..any tips, advice, do's and dont's would be greatly appreciated
We love to watch movies as a family at home, so we either borrow them from our local library, or we use Netflix of Amazon Prime for the streaming video services. We also enjoy having a family game night where the whole family gets involved in playing dice or board-type games.
I would like to see more "subscriber only" deals, not deals that are open to the general public. If you could partner with more places to get those, I would definitely read the newsletter every day. Other than that, I would like to see more inexpensive deals for stocking stuffers.
Thanks for putting the newsletter together!
At the risk of being too esoteric, money is nothing more than a representation of time + effort. Amassing money gives the illusion of power by ignoring the reality that time + effort cannot be amassed. Power is only found in the spending side of the equation when purchasing someone else's time + effort.
We forget that products and services are also nothing more than a representation of time + effort too. We disconnected from this awareness when bartering disappeared and money replaced direct trade.
How I spend my time + effort (money) is as important as how I purchase someone else's (product or service). This makes buying from a good source equally as meaningful a part of frugality for this family. How frugal is it if what made it frugal is both unfair (effort) and unsustainable (time)?
It is really difficult to regain lost time. As the old adage goes' Time is Money. If most people start treating time as they treat money they would be more successful in thier endeavors.
In my experience, proposing a solution is the key ingredient. It helps to show that you're willing to work it out and not just complain for its own sake. Great article!
We live in the frozen north of Alaska and finding warm water to exercise in can be difficult. We ask for gift cards to our local indoor water park at gift giving times, or purchase them at a huge discount at Costco and go water walking 2-3 times a week. My son has multiple disabilities including cerebral palsy and I have bad knees, so water walking in the warm water of the lazy river is a fantastic way for us to exercise AND stay warm. Even better, since he is disabled and needs assistance to use the facility, I get to go for free as his caregiver, so our gift cards go twice as far!
Once a week, we follow up with a visit to a local coffee roaster/shop and treat ourselves to Mochas with other gift cards we have been gifted. Buy local!
Travelling with no money is difficult but it can be done. Perhaps the only way that you can pull it off is to find a job in a location that you want to travel to. Teaching english overseas is one of the most popular ways to do this.
Pretty cool incentives! My town had a tax rebate if you wanted to start a business from home, you didn't have to pay taxes for the first two years of the activity.
Money often costs too much...(Ralph Waldo Emerson)
I guess I'm busted. I do know many stain removal techniques. I also pay attention to the cost of cards. Guilty as charged.
The Making Home Affordable website has a lot of great info, though I have highlighted much of that in this post -- still worth a visit: http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/Pages/default.aspx
You can also find a HUD-Approved counselor in your area here: http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/hcc/fc/
or talk to someone at the Hope Line listed here: http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/get-started/housing-expert/Pages/def...

True, but there is a key difference: You can save up money; you can't save up time—it goes on flowing by at one second per second, no matter what.

I received a Kindle as a gift and I download free books
I go with a simpler solution: cheese, butter, jalapenos, bacon. Put it all on a plate, mix it together, and bam, you're done.
Non Subscriner: always looking for electronics and housewares. Teen's clothing
Cut off the ribbed top of a sock, roll it into a donut shape and you have the base for a sock bun.
can you use witch hazel on a stye?

Black Friday is a scary prospect to me. I think I love a good night's sleep too much to be shopping by 4:00am. :)
I agree -- these all sound great. I'm huge fan of potatoes in any form! :)
