Haven't filed taxes yet (need an extension because not all info in by 4/15).
No tax professional (unless you count TurboTax).
Don't think I'll get a refund this year, but won't owe any extra taxes either. :)
We have not yet filed our taxes. My husband likes to do them but usually waits until the last minute! Last year we used our return toward paying down the principal on our mortgage. If we get a return this year, that's probably what we'll do again, or we'll apply it toward our daughter's college fund.
My husband and I filed our taxes on January 31st! Once we received all of our tax documents, we were excited to file jointly for the first time so we knocked it out in a few hours. We did not hire a professional, we used Turbotax with the USAA discount and once we received our return, we immediately used it to make an additional principal payment on our new home.
We have not filed our taxes yet. We used to use a professional tax preparer, but now my husband does them. We are going to take a vacation with our return this year.
I file my taxes as soon as possible, since we usually get a return. They're already spent and stored away. I do my own with the help of a free online company.
There is a small perceivable taste change from sitting on the trubs (dead yeast on the bottom) with fermenting. The longer it sits, the stronger it gets. If you have a way of cooling it down without freezing it, you should be ok. You would slow it down and allow it to continue, but just slower. If you taste it now, and the sugar taste is gone, distill it before you leave.
Worst case, you distill it, taste it, add water and distill a second time. Charcoal will help get rid of some taste changes as well.
Reasonable compromises for me: I buy zip lock freezer bags, use them for the food or other storage needs then use them again for the cat litter clean up - for me it's less smell in the house and more sanitary to carry when I can take it to the trash.
About every other month I get the plastic bags - I live alone - I cannot lift larger bags of trash due to physical problems - so I recycle the grocery store bags as trash bags. Not as green as I'd like. This way I stay physically independent.
The tooth paste one really did work even with deep scratches... after a while. I've done if 4 or 5 times now the the scratch I had on it is nearly completely gone, although the wait 1 or two hours for every wash to let it dry is annoying, it does work.
My children motivate me to save! I want them to have a better life than I have so I have to pay for them to take college or something else which will help them be successful! Each day I spend with them reminds me of the future
What motivates me to save is that I have money to put into savings each month to provide for myself for the future and hopefully pass on to my son when I am gone.
Buying refurbished Macs is a great idea. Apple has quality products - the people who return their Macs probably just didn't know how to properly use a Mac. I'm sure that Apple puts a lot of effort into making sure their refurbished products stand up to their brand new products.
What strikes me as wrong with the $35 martini is the unconsciousness rather than the price. I might go to a ball game, fully intending to spend $6 on a beer and $3 on a pretzel, even though I consider those prices ridiculous, because I don't go to ball games very often, and a beer and a pretzel really enhances the experience for me. If the gal in the article had said, it's New Year's Eve, and what would really make the night for me is a martini, so I'm going to buy it even if it's $35 -- that would be something I could relate to. But the "when I want something, I get it!" comment suggests to me that this happens all the time, without thought. That pattern will surely get her into trouble in the long run, if it hasn't already.
What motivates me to save is knowing that if I don't, I won't have anything later when it's time to retire. It's scary to think that there will be no Social Security later on, and I can't imagine not at least trying to take care of myself.
I'm motivated to save, because my mother spent everything they made. Now she is in her 70's, has Alzheimers, and no savings or even equity on her house. I will never do this to my kids.
Are you serious? No way would I pay $35 for ANY drink of any kind on any day~! So I guess that's not where my priorities lie... I'm not really big on instant gratification. Unless maybe it's a $4 smoothie? That's about my limit for impulse purchases, any major purchase is a researched decision.

Yes, I've done it a few weeks ago.

Citrus is definitely the way forward! I love lemon and lime with just about everything.
Nice post.
Filed! Check and Double Check! Had them done in February
I filed mine as soon as all the forms came in the mail. Already have my return and bought new windows with it!
Yes, and received our refund already! (and paid our state taxes with it..) LOL

Haha Mikey, I agree with this. I've been getting my student discount for years, and I feel bad about it sometimes until I see Apple's stock price....

Lately I have been loving lime juice, extra virgin olive oil and salt and pepper for salads! It's so simple and tangy.

A college fund for my son. That's a strong motivation to make you save.
