I'm sticking to immediately family only and have a budget of $100-$125 total (to buy for 5 people). It's small, but I'm still paying a lot toward credit card debt.
My family set a $3 limit on gifts between parents, siblings, and sibling SOs. It's quite a challenge, but the best part is that it gives me a budget of about $50!
There's no budget this year for the holidays. Gifts will be homemade...mostly edibles like cookies and candies. What we lack in money we'll make up for with love! <3
Avocado will not brown if you squeeze plastic wrap snugly against the fruit. The same should be done with guacamole. Even if you are storing guacamole in a container, you should place plastic wrap on top of the fruit, being sure to press out any air bubbles.
Batteries certainly do have an expiration date, pay attention or deal with the leaky mess when they've sat around too long. This is mostly true for the "cheap" brands, but don't assume that duracell will last forever.
The truth is that batteries actually do expire, albeit often a couple of years in the future. Check your packaging, and the batteries themselves to be sure they're in date. If you're not careful, you'll have to throw out half of that 500-pack of AAAA batteries you bought!
I'm gearing up to buy the first car I've owned in five years, and I'm glad to know that being a lady won't increase my rates. Just buying a car and insurance is expensive enough already!
I'm feeling the same way. I just started a few days ago. My hair feels like when you get back from the beach and there is salt in it. I can't get my comb through it, and when I do, it pulls it out. I have pretty thick and long hair.
Let me know if anything has changed! Or if anyone has a clue, I'd be happy to hear it too :)
I usually do have a budget of about 20$ a friend and $50-$100 for family but since I just got a full time job i'll spend money on people that matter the most. I won't buy the most extravagant gifts but if it suits a particular person I won't not buy the gift if it's more than I'd want to pay.
Some nice tips there. Batteries however do have an expiration date. Storing them in a water proof container in the freezer can help them last longer because a cooler temperature lowers the rate of self-discharge. Alkaline batteries may not suffer much from self-discharge but they do have a best before date, even printed on them in most cases.

Seriously? even if it was cheaper to bake your own bread, how much can the savings be over paying $1 for a loaf at the grocery store
Of course we do, $40 per person. Every once in a while it's waived, but not without permission or careful planning.

Thanks for this article - the global giving gift cards are brilliant.
I just buy what I have the cash for, which is only for my 3 immediate family members.
Yes we do. My husband was laid off for a yr and recently started working again. We have to budget to stay on track! :)
Since I'm currently out of work, it's whatever we can scrape together after bills & food. So, not much of anything!

I have a per person budget for my own immediate family, and my husbands family uses a $10 per kid limit when we celebrate with them.

I have a budget of around $200 because I am a poor college student!

Thanks Will! And if the beard is one of these, I'm okay with it: http://etsy.me/tVcfEF
