Checking known clearance spots (like Target endcaps) for items like socks & thermal underwear after season. For the kids, I buy two sizes up.
I found a jello stain caused by my little brother that was a couple of weeks old. We do not own the house so I REALLY needed to get it out. We tried everything we could find, including products such as resolve. Finally, I tried nail polish remover because it was the dye from the jello that was left on the carpet, not the jello itself. I tested first on carpet in a closet and nothing bad happened. I than put it on the stain and left it for a few hours with a paper towel over that had a jug of water holding there. I came back and checked on it and the red was coming out of the carpet! The stain is now completely gone!
Excellent suggestions, especially for giving to worthy causes at the same time. Love the cooking lessons! I like to give a slow cooker along with a recipe book for it. That helps busy people eat at home more often. An indoor herb garden is a nice gift also; they can snip fresh herbs for their cooking!

Those ordinary folks who think that wage/debt slaves are taught to via their apparently voluntary and useful bondage to work, manage money, and be honest are just buying into the dominant culture with its capitalist mindset, capitalist lies and manipulation.
It's the same old crap. My country, right or wrong, so I'll enlist or accept the draft and go off and kill whomever my country tells me to kill. What's good for GM is what's good for the U.S. so let's keep corporate taxes low even though they are already too low. The business of the U.S. is business, so ditto. Manipulations all.
These folks make it easy for capitalists to manipulate us all, to induce or seduce us into doing what they want us to do rather than what we want to do, to buy politicians and thus buy the laws that enrich them and enslave and impoverish the rest of us. Zombies all. People who have differing perspectives are treated as hippies, pacificists, socialists, communists, trouble-makers, un-American, whatever.
And I think Phil missed something basic about managers. Sure, they'd be upset because their bonuses were threatened by freeing wage/debt slaves, but they'd also be upset about actually having to get a real job and do real work rather than push paper, call pointless meetings, create makework nonsense to make it look as if they are actually doing something. Some do, to be sure, but most do not. Small to medium work teams can "manage" themselves. Managers are largely unnecessary. And as Adm. Grace Murray Hopper said, "You don't manage people. You lead them." Any capitalist, any manager that doesn't get that is pretty stupid and does not deserve any privileges or power.
Finally, there are solutions to the problems. We don't need owners. We don't need managers. The workers of the world are capable of organizing and leading themselves, of using the natural resources, and the agricultural and industrial capacities of the world to produce for the benefit of the people of the world, not for the profit of the few.
And when the needs of all the people of the world are met, then there would be no hunger, no homelessnes, no want, no need, no fear, no need to go to war. Not wasting money on pointless military would lower taxes and increase security.
Do not, under any circumstances, order anything from this company. We just ordered a $25 coupon for a purchase of $50 or more. But there were so many restrictions AND a GIANT unexpected ENFORCED gratuity that it made me feel RIPPED OFF. After looking at the bill, we would have actually paid $10 LESS if we would NOT have used their coupons at all!!!
#6: As a cash-discount negotator! I use my rewards as a floor - as a negotiating point to get a higher discount than my points. I'll whip out my amex and then casually ask for a larger discount if I pay cash. You'd be surprised how many times it works. Vanilla does work. I was using it all the time after a doctor in the Dominican Republic suggested it for my baby. The extract I bought there was pure and black in color. When I came back to the states and tried the pure white-colored extract, it didn't work at all. I'm not sure what the difference is in extraction methods. All I know is that I'm buying the black one in bulk.

Both eBay and Amazon have given me access to brand new seasonal clothing at economical prices. I have access to direct-to-consumer wholesale prices on everything from socks to thermal underwear to gloves to coats. On eBay, I can narrow my search based upon price (low to high), color, brand name, U.S. addresses only etc. I would say 99% of my transaction experiences have been favorable. The other 1% I don't sweat over. ♥
If you are a well-informed buyer you might search or sell your home for yourself and the result might be great. However, in my experience there is some people who don't know much about real estate and end up engaging in situations that compromise them legally and financially. For those I guess it's better to hire a GOOD Real Estate Agent.

Acquiring the tools to verify what you read and hear about annuities is essential. Products, and the advisors who recommend them, must verify against your knowledge and tools. Only then do these people and products earn your trust. Become a smart buyer- empower yourself to verify before you trust. To use an analogy, when you buy a home, it is wise to bring a buyer’s agent to represent your interests in a purchase until you how to ask the right questions to get all the necessary information about the property. But after you’ve bought and sold many homes and acquire more specialized knowledge in the field, you can feel confident dealing directly with the seller’s agent and representing your own interests.
Partly I live in Texas, so not only do I not need a lot of winter clothes but also the winter clothes that I have don't get a lot of wear, so they last. But when I do buy winter clothes, I try to shop off season. I also find that camping and outdoor stores (especially online...campmor.com, sierratradingpost.com, etc) often have some great deals. It might be last year's "model", but that doesn't really bother me.
These are good starter recipes, but salt and pepper is just never enough seasoning for any meat unless you're going for bland. That said, the recipes leave plenty of room for individuals to add to as they please so thanks for the ideas

The disadvantages are that credit unions usually have more strict rules than banks. If you deposit a large check, they are more likely to put a hold on it than a bank. The hours are usually less convenient. They will also have fewer ATM's.
I have dealt with banks and credit unions, and I'm back with a bank. The difficulty of dealing with a credit union wasn't worth the extra penny in interest I got every month in my savings compared to the bank.
My husband and I are the same size we have been for years so we dont have to buy things every year. Our oldest daughter has always been right on track with sizes for her age so we buy things on clearance when the season is over for the next year and once she outgrows them we hand them down to our youngest or to someone who needs them.

I own a Vet Hospital. Pet Insurance does not affect our billing as it is a 3rd party payer. You pay us and they pay you based on whatever plan you bought. If I were to bill the insurance co. direct, wait for them to pay, and then, just like insurance on the human side, play the whole shell game of denying coverage, lost claims, delayed payments, etc, I would need to hire at least 1 person full-time just to handle claims. That would affect your bill.
I would argue that the cost of Veterinary Services are more impacted by two things:
1. The amount of student debt for many Vet students upon graduation is beginning to exceed $250,000. That is a LOT of money they have to pay back,
2. People demand the same (or better) care that they can receive on the human side. 15 years ago, I bought an xray machine for $9000, I just replaced it with a digital unit that was over $100000. Old Ultrasound was $20000=new one was $60000. And so forth. The more that pet owners demand that we do, the more it will cost to treat your pet.
