My favorite (easy and inexpensive) Thanksgiving dish to make is spinach squares. They are pretty much cheese, flour, and spinach, and a great way to get my kids to eat spinach.
I'm not sure if I'll venture out on Black Friday. My mom and I used to go years ago (before it was popular) and we had a blast. It's not fun anymore though. I'll probably stick with the local stores and go later in the day.
In my country, people can redeem empty bottles for food. The government gets empty bottles for recycling purpose. And the people get food they need. It's a win-win situation.
I honestly am unsure as of this moment if I'm going to shop on Black Friday or not. I am leaning towards staying at the house, avoiding the madness, and saving my hard earned dollars. There are good deals out there but I haven't seen anything that is making me change my mind
When I was laid off from my job I discovered just how much money I was wasting on food every day. Now that I'm starting my own home-based business I've saved hundreds every month by not buying that morning coffee, pastry, or quick sandwich at lunchtime. Not only that but I'm eating a lot healthier by making my meals at home and enjoying doing it. Only downside is that the pile of dishes seems to grow exponentially every time you turn around.
Trader Joe's also sells a 6 pack of beer called Name Tag Classic for $2.99! I've yet to find brews cheaper than that. My friends hate it but it gets the job done in my book.
My favorite Thanksgiving budget dish is green bean casserole. I love that it is so inexpensive and easy to make. It essentially, just involves opening a few cans, mixing the items together and then baking it for 30 minutes. Yummy!
I lived in Philadelphia immediately after college, so I'm happy to see PA mainstays Yuengling and Lionshead on this list. One of the best things about Lionshead is all the beers have rebuses under the caps, which are always fun to figure out when you're sitting around and drinking.
Recyclebank came to Philadelphia shortly before I moved, and I was bummed that I never got to try it. It seems like a really neat program.
I had a few friends in college who would collect cans around campus and redeem them for cash -- it wasn't wildly lucrative, but it gave them some extra spending cash.
Passive income really is great. Though, it takes a lot of time knowledge and experience to develop a big enough amount of passive income to replace a full time salary.

Can't tell you how many times I've been there. Great suggestions!
I will definitely not be shopping on Black Friday - but best of luck to those who are! Personally, I think it's too much of a buy-in (no pun intended) on our consumer-driven culture.
I won't be shopping this Friday at all. I don't need anything personally and have already told my family that holiday gifts are going to be minimal this year.
i like wisebread on fb
i plan to NOT shop this year to save money - it will be the first year in many that i won't be black friday-ing!

No, I would rather stay home on my day off.

Mashed potatoes are definitely my comfort holiday food. I probably eat more of that than turkey!

No black Friday for me! Will be spending quality time with family, since they don't live near by. Maybe cyber Monday though...

I love sweet potato casserole. It's healthy, cheap, and yummy!
Nope! We'll be staying home and playing video games or reading. No shopping - in stores or online - for us!

I will not be shopping on black friday--I hate the crowds
I don't have much of a budget favorite. SO my favorite dish is my grandmothers bourbon sweet potatoes
HELL NO---I WON't GO!
No way would I wake up in the morning (whats a morning??) and brave the crowds and the people to save a few bucks! That is what my computer is for!
