I absolutely will not be going black friday shopping. I think it is crazy to fight all the crowds, rude fighting people to just save a few bucks. Don't get me wrong, I am very frugal and shop sales, use coupons, etc but I don't want to put myself in a position to get run over or hurt to save money.
Shop! Actually, it's a fun tradish for my sister and I. Our Walmart run is going to be on Thanksgiving this year, so we are actually going to get some sleep! I do feel bad that people have to work on Thanksgiving, I wish they would make it on Friday again for the workers. I don't mind getting up early for that fun. Our neighborhood is full of kind people though...no pushing and shouting or anything; actually people call out what they're looking for and others help them find it. It's awesome!
I would never go on Black Friday because I can't handle the crowds. We need a new DVD player for our workout dvd's and I plan on buying online on Cyber Monday. I got a great deal on a netbook a couple of years ago from Best Buy. You can get the same deals sitting by the fire with a computer on your lap. Why go out?
Absolutely not! The few gimmick promotions are not worth the inflated prices on everything else strategically placed for temptation. And I hate knowing how many employees are not getting to be with their families because of the horrible practice Black Friday has become. Yes, I know some people WANT to work the extra hours, but I bet most of them do not.
oh, hell no...the only time I have done the black Friday thing is when 1 person wanted 1 thing that was available at 1 store. Got up early, got the last one in the store, got out.
One time I was asked if I knew any other native americans who were looking for work. The HR Director actually said for demographic purposes, "We need to get some more of those." My jaw about dropped.
Yes, I will be out shopping. It is a tradition the youngest daughter and I started a good number of years ago. We gets some great deals, break for lunch and have a wonderful day together. Would not miss it since she is married now and we don't get to spend much time together!
I will not be shopping on Black Friday for two reasons: 1) I begin my Christmas shopping a few months in advance so I can avoid the holidy rush; and 2) I simply don't have the patience to wait in line for hours at the crack of dawn. Shopping on Black Friday is a tradition for some families, which I can respect, but it's not for me :)
My absolute favorite is green bean casserole. We always buy the French's french fried onion rings, and follow the recipe on that's on the can. There's only five ingredients, all of which are inexpensive, AND it's delicious!
I am not a martha stewart fan particularly, but I found this recipe last year for Thanksgiving and it was a hit! I love my sweet potatoes, and this is definitely one of the tastiest treats I've served around Thanksgiving!! Super cheap & easy to make!
My budget dish would be mac & cheese with a touch of bacon. I also love the mash potatoes. I back them in the oven along side the turkey. I can't wait for Thanksgiving. I also looking forward to the desserts!
My favorite budget side dish is sweet potatoe yams. I only make this at Thanksgiving time. It is so easy to make and also delicious the next day. I have a sweet tooth so it satisfies my sugar craving.
My absolute favorite Thanksgiving dish is homemade cornbread dressing, that is stuffed inside the turkey. This allows is to absorb all those wonderful flavors from the turkey, and it's always moist!
Played it with 2 friends while we were traveling together in China/Macau! It was the 2nd most fun part of the meal (eating was the 1st!). One girl lost 3 times in a row. After that, we set a rule that you couldn't lose more than 3 times consecutively. So, she was guaranteed a free meal on our 4th time playing. It worked out well because it was always just us 3 and we were traveling for several days so, statistically, everything evens out. As long as no one sweats the small stuff, it's a good time. Besides, what's $10 here and there between friends you see all the time anyway?
My favorite dish is sweet potatoes, either with the traditional marshmallow topping, or without marshmallows and tossed with nuts, cranberries and a sweet glaze. Most places here in town have them on sale this week, so buying enough to feed a large group of people is pretty feasible.
I like you on facebook.

Honestly, I prefer Amazon or gift cards.
I shop Black Friday with my sister every year. We just pick up movies, clothes and other small gifts - we mostly avoid the big-ticket items.

It is so easy to make economical T-giving dishes. Mash turnips with ginger, cream and fennel. Corn pudding is another easy fun cheap dish.

My favorite Thanksgiving budget dish and comfort food is green bean casserole. I believe I can make it for less than $3 for the whole dish.

Thanksgiving breakfast sounds awesome. Why wait to have a feast in the afternoon. We are going to do that this year. Thanks for sharing.

My favorite Thanksgiving comfort food is Mashed potatoes. I love how my mom makes them with mashed up garlic.
