Favorite moments:
* Meeting all the people whom I've read, and seeing them in real life. Specifically: Seeing J. Money's mohawk. Seeing Adam Baker in person, after seeing his homepage pic with Milli for so long. Meeting Kevin from Thousandaire. Meeting the legendary JD Roth -- yeah, I was a little star-struck. Discovering Ramit is taller than I thought he would be. Discovering (as Donna said) that Gia from the Digerati Life isn't blond (I also thought she would be). Seeing JoeTaxpayer's startling resemblance to SuperMario. Discovering that Donna is hilarious in person. And how could I ever -- EVER -- forget Lynn's joke? Best joke of the weekend.
I was talking to Ryan at Cash Money Life and he shared that he uses Scrivener as a writing tool. It's available for Mac, Windows, and Linux (the Windows and Linux is new), and it seems awesome.
I check my "unofficial" score weekly. I use Credit Karma which I've found to be somewhat accurate. If anything, it tells me whether my score is trending upwards or downwards.
"Your rooms will soak up the heat and release it at night." - Not sure where you get your facts but this is just silly. Sure, the sun will help heat rooms during the day but carpet, furniture, lamps don't somehow store heat and release it when the sun goes down. Especially when it is only 20 degrees outside.
Comfort aside, it is simply not possible for anyone in a detached house to keep the heat off completely in a climate which dips below freezing during the winter. The pipes would freeze and burst. It is much more doable for someone in an apartment to not turn on their heat - they are partially heated by the apartments around them, and do not need to worry about pipes freezing. My brother used to wait until mid-winter to turn on the heat in his apartment - his daytime temps never dipped below 55 or so, despite living in a cold northern climate. Now, if none of his neighbors turned on their heat, that would be a different story. That would be quite disasterous for the building.
I don't go so far as to never turn on the heat (in a detached house in New Hampshire, I simply have to have the heat on durng the winter, even when we're on vacation) but I do keep it at a moderate temp. 67 is the highest we'd ever set it, and it's set to 55 during the day when we're not here, and we often keep it at 61 during the day when we are here. 61 is also a very good sleeping temperature.
"I can't tell you how many people came up to me and said, 'I heard what happened to you. I'm so sorry! Do you need any cash?'"
Are you sure those weren't the Payday loans people? :p
I had so much fun hanging out with you Donna. You were just a whirlwind of awesomeness. It is amazing that you didn't let the mugging ruin your weekend. I'm always awed by your resiliency and positive energy.
I see no problem with this, If you do not want the card Don't use it! It is just as simple as that. If you do not wish to use the card do not activate it. Yes when you call to check your balance Netspend charges 50cents, however if you go on-line its free. There are some ups & downs, like everything eles in this world. It amaze me how people find the silliest things to talk about, other than whats really important. NetSpend do not force people to use the card.I don't see how they can do that you either do or you don't. WoW Smh......Come on!
Me: "My room key card doesn't work anymore, can you give me a new one?"
Staff: "Oh yeah no problem. It's a known issue. Apparently if you keep the card next to the phone it frequently scrambles the card rendering it useless."
Me: "I see. Good thing people don't usually put their key cards and phones together in their pockets."
My favorite Adaptu moment was walking by the booth 3 times, each time stopping to compliment you guys on the great t-shirt design, and then forgetting to actually pick up a t-shirt.
I like you and your post on Facebook.
I know I have good credit, but have never been given a number or "score." I receive the 3 free reports, but no score.

I like Wise Bread on Facebook!
I do, thanks to CreditKarma.com (free)
I do, because I just bought a car....
Liked the FB page :)
I checked my credit score the other day for free on creditkarma.com and was surprised at how high it was.
I saw my credit score about a year ago when I refinanced on my mortgage so I figure that I know the general ballpark figure for my current score.
Yup! I check every year!

I love Walmart. It's the best kept secret for the budget. I get so many great deals on clothes there.

I have no idea. I do pull my credit report for free every year, but I've never been in a situation where I needed to know the actual number.

Yes, yes I do. :) I signed up with CreditKarma.com and CreditSesame.com, just to see what all the buzz was about.
On top of that, we just bought a house, so we were given our credit scores by the lender.
Hah.. I love that i win best use of swag by my wife using the giant foam finger to smack the dog!
