I want to stop receiving creepy sex ads! I do not need Viagra or any other enhancements, nor do I want pictures of sexy girls. I don't want any hook-up network possibilities or a chance to meet people who are married and want to swing! How do I get off of their lists that I never wanted on in the first place!??????
Along with "less" and "fewer," I would add "number" and "amount." The word "number," as in "the number of people with AIDS," is disappearing from American English. Everyone today seems to use the word "amount" in this situation, but "amount" should only be used, like "less," for things that can't be counted. And "number" must be used for things that can be counted. So, "the amount of people with AIDS" is incorrect and jarring to the ears of those who know better. As Damian says, if you want to get your point across, you don't want the static of bad grammar to get in the way.
I agree with everything that you said, but I would add other important hidden costs. Our relatively inexpensive clothing also comes with a high cost to the low-paid garment workers who make them. Also, behind big oil, the garment industry is the second biggest contributor to global climate change. Third, hidden within our supply chains for cheap clothing is human trafficking. Finally, the biggest driver of the global gender wage gap (women being paid less than men) is the garment industry.
If we bought better, if we bought less, and if we paid a just wage, we would feel better about our clothing. It would not be just something discardable. Being in right relationship with ourselves, with others, with creation is an enduring basis for joy. Learn more at: http://www.humanthreadcampaign.org/
It's a very troubling statistic indeed, Nick! On the one hand, friends and relatives co-signing credit cards and loans are very willing to provide a lending hand, and on the other, those co-signers should be aware of the consequences of a co-signer acting very irresponsibly.
I want to build my emergency savings to cover 6 months of living expenses. It will require me to be diligent with my budget, but I'm hoping I can get there this year!
I want to max out my 401k and IRA this year, continue to pay down a little extra on the mortgage and save a little more in our daughters' college funds. Beyond that, make sure the emergency savings cushion remains well padded and that we have a little for a vacation.
Saving currently for vacations with my family. My daughter is set to finish high school soon and family vacations will never be the same. Trying to cram as many memories in while we can! Then we'll be on to more college saving, eventual wedding savings, and somewhere waaaay down the line, grandbabies!
I am currently working on my emergency fund and I believe that I have one thousand in my piggy bank..at the same time I am also saving for my down payment on a townhouse
I love the garden box idea! Very crafty
To help my grandkids college fund and also just set aside money for a rainy day.

I was just turned away from the Costco hearing aid center because I'm not a member.

Wash out your kitchen trash can every other week and put a dryer sheet in the bottom before you put a new bag in it
My current goal is a comfortable retirement. I think I'll be okay, but wish I had started saving at a younger age.

I want to save 25% of my income for retirement, donate 10% of my income, and save for a vacation next year!
Not something necessarily attainable... I'm just saving in general for the future, such as the cost of raising kids.
Mildliners are also great! They come in more pastel tones, leaving what you highlight easier on the eyes and ergo easier to read.
Thank you for the heads up on the Photo Shop!

Consumers forget that the concession guy or gal had to buy a license and rent the space. They are passing on the cost for your convenience.
