Absolutely I will be voting. This is an especially important election for my state (Michigan) and we couldn't have more different candidates for governor. I am really looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
I certainly will be voting. What budget conscious citizen won't be voting! This time we need "real change", someone that listens to the people! I feel it is a privilege to vote, and a commitment to future generations. Pip
Not only is recycling good for the environment, it can help save you money, and, with the projects posted here, you can find out how to recycle creatively! Using the ideas presented here, you can transform baby food jars, paper bags, orphaned socks, and several other items into crafty masterpieces. Let's all Craft Green. Make sure any items you recycle into crafts are clean and dry - most can be washed in hot soapy water. You should also make sure there are no sharp edges or small parts which may pose a choking hazard for younger kids. Simply make sure you use common sense before you use your imagination.
I can't imagine anyone opting out of voting this time around! I also don't understand how anyone could be "undecided" on any of the people or issues at stake. I've never seen such a clear cut difference in beliefs/policy.

someone who pretends not to need anybody, since most of them have to do with helping others, giving money to needy, etc. I always say "i'm happier by myself", due to experiences, but seeing the list says Ireally miss people around. hmmmm maybe i'll tiptoe into a club, crowd or join something and see what happens. I'd hate to end up in some rocking chair and no one know i'm dead for 3 weeks.
I have been trying to purchase a house for 2 years. I've had contracts on 4 properties and every time my appraisal comes back too low and kills the deal. I don't mean a couple of thousand dollars but 10s of thousands. I have lost $1750.00 in appraisal fees that I will never get back. I have learned a valuable lesson that I can pass on to my kids and grand kids. This lesson cost me $1750.00 but I think it is worth it. Never take your real estate agents word that a property will appraise if he insits then ask him or the seller to pay for it and you will reimburse him at closing and watch what happens. If they disagree then you move on to the next property. Some one will know what there property is worth and take you up on it , if they want to sell . What would they have to loose. Except the appraisal money if don't appraise . Or at the least go half. But you as the buyer have to take control of the sale.
Of course I'm going to vote and every person reading this blog should say the same. If you don't vote, then you have no right to criticize any elected poplitician. This is your voice on issues and candidates - local, state, and federal.
Yes the rich do save and invest. But that doesn't mean that they are creating new economic activity in the US Economy. They could invest in foreign stocks or bonds. Create a new factory or update equipment in an existing factory overseas. They could invest in money center banks or other wall street firms. Any of these activities don't help the US economy in the short run. Also we are keeping these taxes artificially low by selling US debt to China.
In only one way do I agree with not taxing the rich. We should all pay slightly higher taxes to get our deficits in order.
My suggestion is to reduce taxes on the lowest rate currently ten percent, then raise all the other taxes by at least two percent possibly a sliding scale. And why only the four brackets? Also let put reduce federal spending say by a similar two percent. Also redefine capital gains as investment in productive enterprises not hedge funds.

I work for two places full time monday thru friday for the state as a temp call center employee, and a retail job part time. Ive worked for the retail company for 5 years and the state job for 10 months. I hate the state job, i hate people screaming at me over the phone. I really dislike the constant calls, same old same old thing day in day out. The only thing i love is that every other weekend i get to work at the retail job and get respect from customers and coworkers. I can always go back and work retail all week but the pay would be about 1/2 of what i make at the state with no heath benefits. Thats really the only reason i'm there. The job is temp so any day could be my last. Ive been in so much stress the last few months that i have had extreme migraines and have had to leave work because its so stressful. I'm really at a fork in my life with my jobs and i'm so confused. Any suggestions ?
A quote that has been in my mind lately was in a James Patterson book, i'm still young and i know work is always going to be there just have to work for it and this quote really makes me think about my priorities and what i want from life.

Of course I will vote in November. It's part of the obligation of being a free citizen of the United States. Freedom comes with responsibility!

Tim, this is what I was thinking while reading this article. Why wait until you have financial freedom to do any of these things?
