I have to disagree with the premises of your argument. You make a lot of really good points but i think you are confused about what inflation is. As I understand, inflation is an increase in the quantity of money absent an equal increase in economic activity. The CPI in my opinion reflects the effects of inflation and not inflation itself. Yes, higher demand for food and energey reduce the standard of lliving. But, if the demand is artificially created through monetary and fiscal policy is this not the result of inflation.

There's nothing wrong with having a nice, shiny new vehicle, but it would have cost me $700 to fix the old one (which wasn't really THAT old), but instead I chose to spend tens of thousands of dollars to replace it with a new one. That said, today I'm a lot more thoughtful when it comes to vehicles. Function over fashion is my new motto. Maybe one day in the future that will change but for now, the incredible savings for having a used car and utilizing car sharing programs might come in handy for things far more valuable in the near and far future.

Then, look for these items being sold on Craigslist, find an item that is at or below what most of them are selling for on EBay, and then offer the seller a lower price than what they're asking.
Be sure not to go too low, as this can be insulting to the seller, but shoot them an offer low enough that will still net you a profit after factoring in the expenses of shipping and EBay fees.
The thing that makes this work is the fact that Craigslist is a marketplace where people are allowed to barter and negotiate.

I Got a Ring Of Death On my New Red Dead Redemption CD. Ive Tried Toothpaste, 4 types of metal polish,Wax (as said in the comment about wax) which i had some problems with,Furniture Polish,Ive had it cleaned by the Average Cd Store Cleaner. The Ring itself Was Somewhat Lessened, But it wasnt completely Removed,Anyone got any suggestions on how to remove it? (RoxasTheHaxGod Is my GamerTag if any R.D.R. People out there want to play me)
On #2 the compensation changed effective April 5th. It basically took away a mortgage lenders ability to negotiate a lower rate with the consumer. Ironically both mortgage companies and banks reduced what they paid their employees while increasing rates by about 1/8th which means even more $ for the banks and companies. The employees and the consumer gets the shaft. Nice right. Great plan Government!! Way to make sure the middle class gets pushed down while banks make even more!

I made quilts for my grandchildren using their old jeans, pockets included, and flannel. The youngest one likes to keep his smaller stuffed animals in the pockets. He thinks they stay warm in there. Just the heads are peeking out and they get to sleep in their own cozy spot. He said they're comfortable in the pockets just like he's comfortable under the quilt.

Also, if you are a beginner investor, then a 401k, roth IRA, and an online brokerage setup yourself can minimize your costs. No need to get complicated and run to an FA right away. Saving the extra money you would pay an advisor can go back into your investments!

Also, the kids of the parents at our garage sales started playing soccer on our lawn with our 3 year old. So their parents bought more stuff (we made $500 in the end so we're pretty happy with that!). It was my first garage sale and I would definitely would do it again and now know what seems to sell well (toys, clothes, coloring books, gardening stuff). I would even go and check them out now that I know the deals you can get.

There's also LibreOffice Calc, which is free (actually, the whole office suite is) and will fulfill the spreadsheeting needs of *almost* everyone.
