Man # 10 is the richest and owns the building the bar is located in. When they beat him up, he is no longer able to manage his building and the bar has to close.
Man # 9 is the second richest and owns the distributorship that provides the beer. With no bar to buy the beer, he goes out of business.
Now there is no bar and no beer.
Men # 5-8 consider driving to another bar, but since gas is too expensive they cannot afford to drink at all.
Men # 1-4 don’t have a license to drive in the first place and now turn to a life of crime since they can no longer drink free.
At the end of the day, any time you start a business you need to cut down as many of the basic expenses as you can that quickly add up. Anytime you buy anything online, take time to find out the promo codes or use sites like htpp://www.coolestcoupons.com. I found myself spending $120 a month at Starbucks? Also if you use any sort of bank credit, make sure you are only placing things on credit that make money and not things like meals or clothes.
I think that the person who posted the article "The Truth About Credit Counseling" may be a bit unsure about the difference between Credit Counseling and Debt Settlement. No legitimate Credit Counseling agency would ever ask anyone to stop paying their bills! I have checked on this and have looked into the agency listed in the link (ClearPoint). Not only to they encourage responsible credit management, they give you a free counseling session and then explain all of the options that are available to you. If you enroll in their debt repayment program, they help you pay off all of the debt you owe in a fraction of the time it would take on your own. They can do this because they help negotiate reduced interest rates on your credit cards. Lower payment, lower rate, faster journey to being debt-free. Sounds like help to me. Bankruptcy should only be considered as a last resort, and debt settlement should be avoided altogether. Many of the settlement agencies make promises that they cannot deliver, and they (not Credit Counseling agencies) are notorious for telling people to stop paying their debts in order to get a better settlement. To tell someone to worsen their financial situation has never been an ethical way to provide counseling. The job of a legitimate credit counseling agency is to improve lives through financial education. The true test of a trustworthy agency is to check them out through the Better Business Bureau and also the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. I checked ClearPoint and some other NFCC agencies with the BBB and they look very legit :)
I recently wrote a similar short article on how to save on meds: http://fiscalzen.com/content/five-tips-help-save-meds . Pill splitting can be an effective tactic for saving on medications. In addition, there are a couple of brand-name prescription coupon sites that can save you some cash if generics aren't an option.
Working in a bank I see people every day that are focused on paying off their mortgage asap and let other debt pile up. While paying off you mortgage early is a great idea PLEASE don't forget to pay off other debt FIRST. I just shake my head when I see someone who is paying extra on a 5% mortgage and then making minimum payments on a 22% credit card or regular payments on a 9% auto loan. Use the extra money here first.
Your mortgage is a long term debt payoff that should be addressed once you payoff everything else. Besides you are eroding away one of your largest tax breaks.
wikipedia is probably paid off by the government to only release things the way a government official would like them to be released..... that or they do it that way themselves to protect their own hides.
when i filed, due to the fact i am quite a flake with jobs.....
i had 6 or so w-2's.
i didnt recieve the last w-2 until after filing the others, in which case i got one from the company i was working with and then submitted that information later... but at the moment because of a stupid error on this filing website, that wouldnt let me go back and make a correction.....
so, i did the 1040 with my mother, added the new information and sent off another w-2.
i am or was told i was supposed to get an additional $175.00 and $300.00 from the stimulous check, however i believe without the last w-2 on the first file.... i didnt have the prerequisite $3000.00 adjusted income....
i wonder if theyre making excuses as to whether or not ill even get my checks at all, either one of them, for whatever unconstitutional reason...
lets not forget taxation without representation has been unconstitutional since our forefathers took Parliament's greedy fingers off of us....
this next exerpt is from wikipedia....
For the record, we note that the following beliefs, which are stock arguments of the tax protester movement, have not been, nor ever will be, considered "objectively reasonable" in this circuit:
(1) the belief that the Sixteenth Amendment to the Constitution was improperly ratified and therefore never came into being;
(2) the belief that the Sixteenth Amendment is unconstitutional generally;
(3) the belief that the income tax violates the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment;
(4) the belief that the tax laws are unconstitutional;
(5) the belief that wages are not income and therefore are not subject to federal income tax laws;
(6) the belief that filing a tax return violates the privilege against self-incrimination; and
(7) the belief that Federal Reserve Notes do not constitute cash or income.
Dr. Wife is finishing her residency and is considering a position in Portola. I'm a systems analyst in IT and hoping that I can leap to telecommuting - at least until I figure out how to make money writing. Both of us love California but don't want to live in a place where we feel like we will never have enough money to live well - like Southern California or the Bay Area. We're both middle aged with a soon-to-be teen, and are looking for a quiet place where Nature is a neighbor that we can greet every morning.
Sounds to me like Plumas County is worth exploring.
A lot of places in my area do specials, depending on the night. For example, a local ale house does dollar burgers on monday nights, another does a prie fixe meal on Tuesday nights for $20, but that includes app, entrees, desert, and one glass of wine (which can last all meal), and auto gratuity. Sounds like it's too good to be true, but the food is fantastic. The only problem I've found with on these nights is trying to get a seat!
For fast food, we have only a few choices, but at our local Wendy's I have gotten to know most of the employees there, and I am always finding extra B1G1 coupons, free drink coupons, etc in my bag. I have never asked for the favor, but it definitely keeps me coming back!
Also, at local restaraunts (not chains), we have a few that we have become very friendly with most of the waitresses. We notice when it's a waitress that we know we get much larger portions (good for take home bags).
I have never asked for preferential treatment, and that's not why we are nice to people. But, we have really noticed a payoff there.
Also, just for reference, it's just me and the hubby. We do tend to eat out a good bit, the weeks we know that we'll be out alot I buy much less at the grocery store. If we had a child or two, I don't think it would balance out, but for us it pretty much does. My husband likes big meals at times, and it's so much easier to go out for one meal of fried chicken than to destroy my kitchen and have enough fried chicken for many days. One high calorie meal vs several high calorie meals.
Wow, this is timely, considering I have two interviews today!
I am clean and attractive and am not fogyish at all...alphahydroxies, eye cream - yes! Thank you!
Behavior plays a big part. The way you walk, enunciate, carry yourself plays a lot. HEALTH....
These are seriously great as they tend to fit just about anywhere and it makes it easy to grab one quarter (also, I've this aversion to sticking my hand into bags of coins). When I was in college I kept a tube in my laundry bag that was always full, which covered 4 loads of laundry. Now I keep one in the car for parking meters and one in my purse for getting rid of the excess.
Nice work, Linsey. Having lived in the ultimate big towns of LA and NY, I have to admit I like and prefer the way things are done in a small town. Besides, it usually means your doing business with friends and neighbors, and you generally know where they live. And you can't beat it when they know what you want before you ask for it.
I've never had my wages garnished, at least not yet, but have found that there are many people who are simply set in their ways and can't fathom the idea of not getting a tangible paycheck in their hands. It's a very old-fashioned way of thinking, but I can understand the psychology of it all. Even still, there are so many advantages to direct deposit, with convenience being the most significant one.
I recall some banks or employers offering incentives to switch to direct deposit, like savings on fees. Also, you get more immediate access to your cash, which is often deposited earlier than when paychecks are disbursed.
Nice informative article. I never gave much consideration to the garnished, until now. It makes sense.
We love to eat out. I'm one of those people that believes that any dish that I can cook tastes better in a restaurant. There are probably health related reasons for this, but also because eating out is fun and convenient. But it's also expensive. I think no matter how you slice it, you spend more money eating out, even if it's fast food, which might taste good but is tantamount to feeding your family garbage.
We've managed to decrease out expenses substantially but simply doing one thing-eating out less. It's made a huge difference, and when we do, we employ many of Xin's ideas, and it works.
Thanks for the comments. You'd think that in an enlightened (?) society like ours that you'd get by with your abilities, but I know better.
Margaret, I grew up in LA and know firsthand what sort of standards everybody is held up to. It's not always realistic, is it? There's a certain generic look of beauty that people seem to strive for, and the standards are high.
Beth, while I don't know what it's like to be the hot chick in the office, I have actually met a few in my life and am struck by how much they exploit their "assets" to their advantage. At times it was shameless, but it sure worked in their favor.
Pam, I'm in complete agreement with the healthy maintenance approach. Besides, I've found that in many, not all, cases of cosmetic surgery, you can often tell that somethings been tweaked and it often looks a bit off. The more cutting involved, the worse this gets. And you can't beat natural beauty, free from too much intervention. That sort of glow comes from the inside.
And funkyright, it's true that you gotta be happy with what you got. If you can embrace that way of thinking, life would be so much easier. I've always found people who are comfortable in their own skin and happy with themselves to be the most attractive. It's that healthy, happy radiance that no amount of surgery or makeup can beat.
im tearing my hair out right at this moment. I cannot find a ride to kansas. I live in Manchester NH and im looking for the cheapest way to get to kansas. i just cant find a DAmn thing out there under 300 us im looking at being there from about july 10 to the 31st and i just cant find one
I am thankful to have come across your article. I have been feeling so guilty for 'retiring early' last year from a job I absolutely hated. I have felt so ungrateful for having done that. As a result, my marriage is breaking apart. Even though my husband agreed to it at the time, he has since become honest about his feelings & he just can't stand it that I don't work. So, I went to work for a temp agency, but has left anyway. Thank you. I don't feel guilty anymore about spending time w/my 87 yr old mother, my neighbors, my kids, grandkids & little puppy & cat. I love to write too & love being at home. I love going to church & singing in the choir. Peace of mind IS more important than money or what money can buy. Thank you.
I am getting a monthly payment of 2081.09 but my number does not include property taxes or insurance. You can use this formula to replace "original payment": =PMT(c6/12,30*12,-c4,0,0) after you have entered your specific information. Then you can go to the $100 area and see the results: payoff in 26 years, 7 months; if you want to see the impact of $200 change all of column d to reflect an extra $200 rather than $100, and your results are 23 years, 10 months. Hope this helps!
Here is the reality of this situation.

I am a high income earner, but I still decided to sign up for my company's high deductable health plan this year.
I didn't do it to save money, but I just thought it was a good idea to keep healthcare system costs lower.
It really makes you think twice before just running to the doctor for no reason. It also makes you seek out generic drugs if they will do the trick.
With a HDHP it is much more of a buyers market and if everyone went on one it would drastically decrease the waste in the current healthcare system.

Oh, and thank you Matt ... that really helped out alot.
your an idiot. this was about how to fix something, not an in for script kiddies to request how to hack their neighbors wireless.
Here's a great hack for wireless ... get a job, subscribe to broadband, buy your own wireless router.
