Batteries and air filters for the AC are also good to buy in bulk off of Amazon. Especially when you can apply a coupon.
We used to buy diapers and wipes from Amazon, but Costco ends up being cheaper since Amazon started charging tax (even with prime and subscribe and save).
What do you do if you want to refinance because your interest rate is too high and the home is still underwater in value, as it has been for the last 6 years due to an area of depressed prices, since the 2008 market crash????? You have just managed to make the payments because you don't want to declare bankruptsy or have bad credit. No lending institution seems to want to help.
I am going to retire today. I am 51, have been a teacher for 28 years and was able to purchase the years necessary for a full pension thanks to investing in a 403b at a young age.
I wish people would stop using the term "douchebag". Dictionary.com defines it as "a small syringe having detachable nozzles for fluid injections, used chiefly for vaginal lavage and for enemas". Every time I hear the word used casually, I cringe.
We have a 5/5 arm thru penfed. 2.875% for first five years. And zero closing costs. It works well for us since we plan on moving to the suburbs in 5-7 years.
I try to avoid them as well, but get several small value gift/debit cards each year. Some are from mail-in rebates, some are received as payment for items returned to stores.
I"ve been using Bing for awhile. I've been happy with the payout! I use Bing to get a Hulu + gift card every month! Which is great because I do not subscribe to cable or satellite. Haven't had any referral signups yet, but that's ok.
By far the most clear picture of how the industry works, how the "herd" works, and how to invest and minimize risk by focusing on things you can control.
Of course he pumps a lot of vanguard index funds...but that's because Vanguard is one of the few (maybe the only) company that started with reasonably moral roots, and still has the best rates/fees around, 90% of the time.
For the "Do you have any questions to ask me?" question:
I got asked this during an interview and I answered: "I noticed that your nametag says you've been here for over 30 years? What has made you stay?"
He loved this question and proudly answered and even said he needs to update his tag to say that he's been there over 40 years and told me many reasons why, seeming like he was the one trying to convince ME to work there and that the place is awesome.
all of t-mobiles plan include free international data roaming (to most countries) as well as reasonable calling rates (only 20 cents/minute). Their plans are generally considered cheaper than the other big carriers although the network is not as widely covering.
I've been to several countries, walked off the plane with my phone, used data, texted and come home to the exact same bill I would have if i hadn't left the country.
It's a game changer...to not even mention it is kind of weird...there are no contracts so you could even just sign up for a month if you have an unlocked phone...
I work at a computer in a pharmacy, not a hard job, and would like to keep working as long as my eyes and my knees hold out (the perils of commuting to a night job in a very severe winter climate.) But I'll be 67 in September and will probably leave sooner, due to my husband who is older, retired and beginning not to do well when left alone all day.
FOMO fear of missing out

I would love to retire by age 60 - only 30 more years to go!

I would like to retire as soon as possible, but I will most likely have to wait until age 67
I would like to retire right this minute, but alas, I must work for about 10 more years.

Looking to retire by 62. House will be paid off. Kid will be out of college and hopefully on to a successful career.
I'm planning on 65/66. At this point I'm not planning on retiring early because I wouldn't know what to do with myself. I'm sure that will change.
I am shooting for 57. I'm 50 now. I want to travel and relax. I have been at my same job for 28 years.
I would love to retire by 60 and we plan on living down at the Coast. My husband will chrater boats and I will take up photography.

Sometime in my 40s, i.e. in the next ten years.
Of course, "retired" to me means: have enough $ to live off of writing/art/editing/freelance adventures.
I don't mind working. I like working. I just don't want to do it for someone else.
This could be the best home made remedy, I had tried it and get the drain open. Cost effective and home made solution that gives best results.
