We try to visit a local island (the ferry service offers free round trips for local residents only one day a year, Mother's Day). It's a lovely place, full of history and we love to visit and take a lunch and wander. No presents necessary, just time with my family!
I have recently started exploring thrifting and enjoyed not only clothing, books and household items but quilts and crafting items. I have found that wool yarn is not something to buy, but can literally fall apart in your hands. I bought a pottery barn chirstmas limited edition quilt for $12 and saw that people were selling them for $300, so I brought it back for them to resell after the holiday.
I have bought several end tables. One was an Ethan Allen that I love. It's been painted a periwinkle color.
One of the main reasons I started thrifting was because I was constantly donating to these organizations and because I was so tired of paying taxes!! I love not having to pay taxes. I figured if I was donating things like Fendi handbags, so were other people.
Ha ha i love the humor in this post "ER room after you've had an anxiety attack" using No Doz.I myself are hypersensitive to regular coffee ( Probable since i have ADHD) should ADHD's avoid coffee? Huh..
I am a manager (of lawyers) a relatively new lawyer (but one with sufficient experience) told me he was too busy (working on insignificant cases) to take advantage of co-chairing a rather important case with me. This guy is lazy and I will NEVER offer him another opportunity. His attitude sucks and the guy who hired him (and keeps him employed) shouldn't be in management at all. I'd fire him myself, if I was in a position to do so.
All great suggestions! I've travel all over the world with my laptop and here are a few of the things I do to keep it safe. I use the Swiss Gear Computer backpack that is extremely durable and has a heavily padded laptop slot inside, which I think is less conspicuous than a laptop case and I always keep it padlocked. Depending on the hotel, I either leave it locked in the backpack and put it in a closet, put it inside the zippered lining of my suitcase under my clothes, or leave it at the hotel desk. I've never had a complaint about leaving it there, even if it's 3 times a day. Travel safe and travel often!
I almost always make a brunch for my mom and daughter at my house. After we eat we usually go for a walk and chat. Back at the house we give each other a small gift, not too expensive, just a little something to say I love you, and cards, most of all, my mom loves a card.
My mother always cooks a homemade meal for me and my brother when we visit her. So for Mother's Day this year, we're going to cook a homemade meal for her. Cooking at home is definitely much less expensive then going out to eat and it means more too.
I also wear my clothing several times before washing. Not undergarments, but definitely pants, tshirts, tops, etc. Unless I've been seriously sweating, I don't see the point!
I've only washed my cats when I've had flea infestations in the summer and needed to sanitize or when my older cat stopped grooming himself. I don't think it's necessary nor particularly kind to bathe cats without a good reason.
Good tips! My laptop died. Instead of selling it whole on eBay, I took out the parts and sold them piece by piece. I couldn't believe even the screws were sold!
We celebrate at home with a family barbeque. My mom is gone now, so I'm celebrating with my 2 sons and their girlfriends. As long as the family is together, that's all I need! What I'd really like is a letter from each of my sons about the happy memories they have of things we've done together~ That would be a cool gift. No need to spend money on gifts.
Last year, I made my mom and my MIL zippered pouches with embroidery, (I made myself one, too.) They're very useful things. Also, my Mother's Day flowers are annual bedding plants, usually marigolds, so I can enjoy them all summer long.

My mom agrees with me that it's a silly made up holiday and we shouldn't feed the machine. So she gets a phone call, which is basically free.

Daddy cooks dinner on the grill.
I will buy gifts for my Mom and we will go out to lunch or dinner together!

I find a gift on sale.

I only wash my hair maybe twice a week, and it's never been healthier! It's also a LOT less frizzy than it was when I was washing it more often.
I'm celebrating Mother's Day with homemade gifts for giving. #WBAsk!
Who do you get your internet through and what do you pay for that?
I usually visit my mom and give her a nice card and just a small token gift that's not too expensive (her favorite chocolates, etc.).
Will this mix harm new grass or areas that I just seeded
Getting mom something nice at a retailer that gives cash back via Ebates, etc always helps!
We usually eat a nice dinner at home and just do small (usually handmade) gifts for the moms and grandmas that are there.
