I use Skype when I travel for work and pleasure (about 3 months out of the year). It makes it easy and cheap to stay in touch with friends and family - the phone cards and cell phone minutes overseas are just too expensive!

Do you need to open an amazon account to purchase these gift cards? Was thinking I would just purchase an amazon e-gift card for my nephew so he could buy a song or a game download. But dont have a need to create an account for myself. Thanks
I love being able to walk everywhere! Now that the weather is nicer and the sun goes down later, I walk to the post office, gym, restaurants, and to do grocery shopping. Saves me a lot on gas just as prices start to rise!
I've used Skype for university projects. For a team project this semester, the professor actually has been traveling the world, so we present to him our project progress over Skype.
My sister in law is in the Airforce and gets stationed in Afghanistan so we use skype to talk with her, this way we don't have to add an international plan to our cell phones.
I've picked up some really useful things from curbs and dumpsters, it's not all junk. I have a set of sturdy plastic shelves in my walk-in closet that I pulled from a dumpster. Since there's very little shelving in there, they have come in handy. I found small plant stands in another dumpster and used them for about a decade before getting replacements. A friend really lucked out when she found some nice furniture and a huge mirror next to an apartment building's dumpster about 5 years ago. The mirror looks great perched on her fireplace mantel.
I use Skype to save my cell phone minutes. It's also nice to be able to catch up and see people face to face every once and awhile. This is great for both personal and family reasons. I like to chat with my family so they can see my two young girls growing up. They live several states over so they don't get to see them in person very often.

I want to go up to mountainous area with a picnic, a blanket, and books, and spend all day there until it's dark. Several weekends in a row.

To be honest, I haven't used it to save money on calls. I have used it mostly for interviews and conference calls for work.
Vinegar and Baking Soda are the best, boiled water also helps. But i hate using old plunger method. Last time i tried to use a cable that also helped.
I use skype make international call.It really saves my money!
Well we save by using the free service, Skype to Skype, online. The only drawback is that it requires both parties to use Skype! ;/
