I love their greeting card section.....they are simple, and to the point, with plenty of space where I can add my own personal touch ;) And for only a buck. lol.
YES. Totally avoid their kitchen gadgets haha. I did buy an ice cream scoop from the dollar tree.....and wow, it lasted maybe 4 uses......went too deep into the Edy's ice cream and the plastic handle broke......mind you, this had a metal head on it.....but yep, the handle cracked on it......so will be replacing that from something from Walmart or Bed Bath and Beyond......
I use Skype, Facebook and texting. My kids are out in the world, one is in Canada and thank goodness we have the social media sites to keep in touch. I get to talk to her everyday

I use my WiFi to stay in touch with colleagues. I downloaded Google Voice and GrooVeIP Lite to make free calls. I also use email and social media. It's nice that everyone is online in some way or another making it easy to stay connected.
I have friends that are always traveling internationally so Skype has been a great way to keep in touch with them. But, mainly, I have been able to save money by not having to be somewhere. I took a workshop on Skype when in order to take it in person I would have had to fly to Los Angeles, stay in a hotel, etc. Saved a lot in travel alone
We skype with family overseas so we use video chat to chat for free and we use the calling feature for times when the computer is not available.
Facebook. Most of them I only have short little snippets and don't need an actual phone call.
I work at a university and we all use skype!
I must admit I'm not that tech savvy, but obviously texting is probably the easiest and most people have a phone so that's pretty darn cheap

FACETIME :) I HAVE FAMILY ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES AND THANK GOD WE CAN KEEP IN TOUCH..I WOULD LOVE TO SKYPE :)
We text a lot and use e-mail and our cell phones..I have never tried skype yet.

We used to use Skype, but we use Facetime now. It worked better for us.
