On the cell phone issue: I am an insurance agent and yes your agent can write a Personal Articles policy for your phone (or add to existing policy). Be advised if you file a claim it will most likely hit your claim history/report as a Homeowners insurance claim. Most of the Personal Articles policies are added or linked to a current Homeowners or Renters Insurance policy that you might have. Thus a claim filed = an increase in your Homeowners insurance on renewal.
I love the recommendation to seek out positive cash flow opportunities. Diversifying income steams is going to be a necessity in the future, I believe. For most of us, this will require reducing pure consumption and increasing investments, such as your example of rental properties, business, etc. With wages stuck where they are, this will be the only way to get ahead.
I love all of these and would add one more; prayer. Express gratitude to God and ask to be guided to make decisions that better yours and others lives.

To keep in touch with anyone and keep it affordable. I use Skype. My daughter lives in England Uk and it's the way I get to know my 3 year old grandson Finley.I also use it at work to keep in touch with other sister companies to preform my job. Makes it easier to have meetings when you just cant get there!
The Internet is the best form of communication that has happened. It allows you to get in touch you knew ages ago and had no idea still existed. My school friends have moved out to different parts of the world and I could reconnect only because of the net. One of my best friends is in NZ & I am in India in a completely different hemisphere. Yet we get to connect and bond so well thanks to the net. It's the same with my hubby and our siblings - they are all living across the globe and I get in touch with them via the net. MY current favorite tools are Facebook and Skype. I also use Whatsapp and Gtalk occasionally. Without these applications, I would be totally cut off from everyone!
Using SKYPE will definitely help me and my family save on long distance charging on our bill and help us to keep in touch with all of our long distance family and friends.
love skype! Great way for calling internationally
Awesome! I hope you reach your goal and have an excellent trip. :)

Meditation can absolutely be a life-saver for some individuals. Glad to see it placed as #1 on this list!
One very efficient way is simply to use email to stay in touch.
Keeping in touch face to face instead of using long distance.
