While I agree that ATM fees can be large, they are far better rates than going to a Bureau d' Change or other money changer, where you get a horrible exchange rate. I would rather hit up a large bank ATM once or twice. You need hard currency, not just plastic!
i have been using skype for 10yrs now coz m90% of my family & friends lives outside US its the only way for me to communicate with them without costing us so much. since wifi is readily available for free now when we are out & its also part of what we are paying on our monthly internet service, there is no need to pay extra using skype.
i also like using FREE VoIp service when calling landline since there are lots of apps that provide such service there is no need to pay expensive monthly bill at all
Great advice. I earn tons of airline miles by using my business credit card to pay for Google Adwords advertising. I get 2 miles for every dollar I spend.
In order to stay in touch with my college friends, we use Facebook and also set aside a specific date each month to go to dinner. We also email photos to each other through our phone, and I skype my sister in Hawaii. I text my family a lot and email photos. I also send digital cards via email.
I tried Mint, but unfortunately it doesn't work well outside of the U.S.
I really like MoneyWiz. It's well-priced, syncs to the cloud, and is available cross-platform, which is important to my husband and I. Also, it does on-the-go currency conversions, which is important to me because I have accounts in U.S. dollars and my local currency. So whether I'm entering things on my Mac, my iPhone, or my husband's on his Android phone, we're always in touch with how much we've spent.
I'm surprised that Mvelopes is not included in your list. I've been using it for years and it's an awesome envelope budgeting application. It is web-based but also includes a mobile app, it downloads transactions, and facilitates envelope sweeps and planned spending. Definitely keep in in mind.
Leaving clippings on a lawn is a BAD idea, unless you are going through a drought. I mad ethat mistake as I was fed up with keep emptying my collector, so I bought a "Mulcher". Three years on and the lawn is 90% moss and lichen, what grass there is cannot breathe, and it is like mowwing steel wool. I have now had to use a lot of moss killer (The "lawn" is nearly half an acre, and then hire a commercial scarifier to clean out the accumulated thatch. I now have a semi desert. but with nature's great "survival of the fittest" dynamic, the grass that survived the scarifier is the best grass, and I need to re-seed the bare patches now. And NOT leave clippings on the lawn in future!! (and the Blue Tits love the huge pile of Lichen and moss for their nest building!:)
Vinegar is only for rinsing your hair, lemon juice ifyoure a blonde, superscrimoers recommend herbal essence as the best, priced between £1 - £20 , expensive are no better

LinkedIn and email seem to do the trick.
Email is the way I stay in touch mostly. If I need immediate contact, I use the phone.
