Great article. We have a few other options where we are that really save us a bundle. A bump and dent "salvage" grocer. A small garden plot. A lady with chickens who sells us eggs really cheaply. A "day old" free bread box at church. (A local grocer donates their goods to various places.)
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for responding! I did fill it up the rest of the way with water. I ended up cutting the milk jug to get the mass out. Then I put it all in a pot and heated it up. That seemed to work better. I let it cool and now it looks like egg drop soup :)
Oh, no! Did you fill up the gallon the rest of the way with water after combining the active ingredients? That should thin out the rest of the ingredients to keep it all liquid.
My husband and I usually do sweet things for one another throughout the year, and we try to "amp it up" just a bit on V. Day! Our anniversary is on the 12 of Feb., so we have a wonderful week. This year I ordered personalized M&Ms with our anniversary date and our little saying we use to call one another. Our children gave us a fifty dollar gift card for Christmas, and we saved it to use this V. Day!
These are all great times. I consider myself pretty good with my money, having paid off my mortgage in 2 years.
I'll add to the list: They don't think of money as a means to buy things. They think of it as a pathway to freedom.
This article comes off a bit bias. It appears to be more bank and doesnt even list any "downfalls" for banks versus the "downfalls" for Credit Unions. Well, I'd choose the C.U. anyday over monthly fees and ridiculous charges.
YES! Not only did I receive one with my name on it BUT it came to my In-laws House. Where I've NEVER lived or ever had it listed anywhere at any time in my time with my husband. I am very concerned about this. How did they get my name with my in-laws address??? I have NOT applied for anything in 6 years maybe longer NOT even for cable or phone or anything...I'm disable and I have what I need for 6 years ago. So, I need nothing. No need to apply for anything. I do not receive medicare or medicaid my husband takes care of me. How can this happen??? MY name, Their address
Sadly they have people making false Good reviews, over 1000.. of course its A fake site but i saw that site before seeing this one..this one I almost missed
Very good and important article. We often overlook the physicaly and mental affects of debt or other financial problems, but they exist. There's a reason why NYC banks and brokerage companies sealed their windows shut in the 1930s. From experience, we can attest to the levity we felt after our debt was paid off and this improved our health and mood. No doubt, the affects are similiar for most people.
Not sure if anyone has used Priceline.com's Express Deals, but when my family travels we use it and save a lot of cash. We also use their credit card and we rack up 5% cash back we use towards hotels stays.
Yep, great point about finding hotels that offer the free breakfast. For lunch and dinner we take a cooler and stock it with grocery store finds. It is amazing how one can travel on a smaller budget if you take some of these steps mentioned in the article.
printed books always! i love having a book collection.

Printed! I'm a library and bookstore fanatic.
I do most of my reading it while traveling, so ebooks are superior.
Definitely ebooks! So light and easy to carry around. They are also cheaper!

I love that "iron chef" idea, Stefanie! I may need to do that myself!
This is a great list. Once I started making my own peanut butter, I never went back!
Great article. I'm looking to become a better morning person.
I prefer printed books.
This is a great article. Thanks for writing it -- I'm definitely always looking for more ways to cut our food bill!
We make a nice dinner at home instead of going out to dinner.
How does the cloth diaper work? Do you have to replace it once your baby grows out of it every few months, because that sounds very expensive.
I can't bring myself to pay for a hotel room. After all, I'm only there to sleep.
A private room in a hostel can cost less than $40. And you'll meet fascinating people.

Exercise! Nothing helps lift my mood like a good workout.

The Nest Thermostat. Saves me so much money it paid for itself really fast.

Thanks for the tips!
I'm celebrating it frugally this year because I dont have anyone to buy for :)
I love Ramsey's snowball method! This is well-written - thank you, I enjoyed it.
Now that tax season is upon us, a reminder that any refund your other readers might get should go to debt. Mine definitely will. :)
