I work part time as a wardrobe tech for dance theater. We mix water and cheap vodka 50/50 in a spray bottle and use it to remove odors from dance gear (which gets colossally sweaty and gross) when we can't wash. Works great - who needs Febreeze?!
I know this post was from last year, but I'm so frustrated at the moment with The Approved Card. I have had the card since last year some time. The main reason I signed up for it...Member to member transfer of funds. I talked my ex into opening an acct so he could transfer child support money weekly for free instead of via Western Union for the crazy fees. He also is able to send me extra if needed anytime. For those who may comment, having it done via courts is not the point and long story. We live in different states now. Anyway, I also like the fact they txt me daily balance & when my card is used. Perfect for identity theft protection. So, now for the negatives which outweigh the positives:
1. Monthly fee
2. Charge you more fees if you need to call customer service more than once in a month.
3. There system has gone down more than once when I needed to pay for a completed service and it kept declining when there was plenty of money, so had to figure out how to pay.
4. Newly updated website doesn't appear to have the member to member transfer option now and when I tried to call the bank, the automated system wouldn't take all the numbers I was typing in and it kept hanging up. I can't even get through to speak with anyone.
So, now I have not gotten my child support and I'm unemployed and it's the only income I get at the moment. I'm ready to close my account, especially if they took away the main reason I opened the account. I do have a regular bank account that I will not ever close because they are the best....USAA.
I can't sit or stand for long periods of time since hip surgery, so I sometimes work on my ironing board with a piece of cardboard on top - it's the perfect height, adjustable, and free, plus it folds away when I move back to my desk.
I agree. Also comparing an expensive mac book pro to an inexpensive pc is simply not fair. If you shelled out 1000+ for your PC you would have an equally impressive of an experience.
As far as viruses go, you have greatly underestimated the amount of malware and viruses that exist for the mac as well. Go to apple's website and you will see they recommend anti-virus software.
Protection against viruses and malware is a function of many things, one of which is proper internet usage (in terms of not downloading items from unknown websites, etc). PC or Mac will not protect you from that.
Damage done! I tried a combination of hair spray and shampoo and have ugly white stains on my fabric.... not sure which one of the two caused it, but since it's so concentrated on the "old stain areas", I suppose it was hair spray. Will dye my clothes black now...
So...i should have given more money to bank (that is going to get bailed out) while I make my payments and still get screwed? That's my fault? Also...I don't know where you live, but bending the ear of a local rep doesn't do squat these days. It's not my fault I pay my mortgage and my equity is sinking lower then my balance. .....perhaps I should just walk away according to your logic because I shouldn't have bought a home?
I stayed at a crappy (1 star is being nice) hotel recently and there was a $1 safe fee which they had a big sign at the front desk that the fee would be removed upon request. So I requested. It took her longer to remove that dollar than it did for me to check in and unpack my car. I gues they are just counting on people not asking or saying forget it, I just want to get out of here!
Wow, some of these fees are really absurd. We have rented an apartment, when in our summer holidays. The parking and wi-fi are free, we don't have safe or anything else. But it's good to know about these all, so that we can be careful with other accommodation service providers.
I look at comments in articles like this and just shake my head. Seriously what's wrong with people these days? It's like everyone has ADD and goes completely off topic or just freaks out like a grandma. Anyway, great article. Some of these things will help me as things are getting very frustrating right now. I don't know what foreign country you must be traveling through, or what sheek properties you will only stay at, but I've been in the industry over 10 years, and if these things you mention were the widespread norm, then I would be upset too. my career has primarily been in the mid scale sector, or for a time, was called the limited service hotel. The mid scale sector has changed very little for several years. Its still extremely competitive based with the goal of providing as many of the amenities as possible and stay within the standard rate. the amenities package you put together is generally what sets you apart from the others because truth be told, less the flag, we're all the same. Since the day dial up died, its been "free" internet through each advancement made in the technology. we still honor 6pm day of arrival cancellations, although, technically, early departure would be a failure to honor your part of the reservation agreement, I've never seen anyone get hit for it. early arrivals are only allowed based on availability(the room has been cleaned from the previous night) usually a couple of hours is acceptable but that one can get tricky because people push it back earlier and earlier until its really is the previous day. The hotels you've encountered that do that really aren't trying to rob you, they're just trying to set the fee that will discourage you from doing this as it causes problems for operations staff. it seems to me like you've spent more time reading the guest service guides in every room, and less time being a guest. you would never stay in a mid tier hotel and pay anything additional beyond the rate you signed in at, plus the standard state and local tax, all of these amounts can be researched before you arrive, allowing you to know exactly what you'll pay when you check out. I'm afraid we'll let the airlines corner that market

But for some people, the ease of use, white-glove customer service, and legendary reliability is worth the premium. Not everyone enjoys opening up their computers—and while Macs are not for me, I can see how for some people there is tremendous value in having a worry-free computer. Perhaps that’s why Macs consistently win PC Mag’s Readers’ Choice Awards. This article represents Aaron’s personal opinion on the subject. Apple did not pay us. I'm disappointed to see this kind of article on Wisebread. Sharing ideas is phenomenal, and when you can replace your ideas with something others are doing better, everyone wins. But many of these ideas are not better at all, or at least not better for society overall.
More subsidized student loans, universal healthcare, and legally enforced vacation time are all items that unquestionably hinder economic prosperity. It would be a tragedy to see the US make the same mistakes as Europe in this regard.
Funny timing. My living room sofa is currently covered in bags and boxes. One of my weekend projects is to sort out all of the gifts I've purchased so far & see what's left to do before Christmas!

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with your PC Laptops, but I don't get viruses with the free Microsoft Security Essentials, and my PC Laptops have lasted literally 8 years before the hard drive finally failed -- which you'll get on PCs or Macs. Plus, the PC vs. Mac preference is COMPLETELY subjective.
For a site that's devoted to saving money, recommending to spend hundreds (if not thousands) more on a name-brand, trendy piece of hardware that is subjectively no better than the alternative offerings seems like horrible advice.
For jobs that are lower paying, the question I would ask is: "How will I get paid and will it be by direct deposit or check?" This may not seem like a question nessasary to ask, but for a lower paying job they may be trying to pay you via debit card. The debit card comes with fees for everything, including inactivity, so basicly these cards are getting a slice of your paycheck. This is a legal scam.
I became alerted to it when I was eating lunch at a Boston Market and there was a manager there at one of the tables trying to fix a problem with one of her employee debit cards. I had never heard of them, so I took a look at them on my phone. It's a scam that plays on people who can't aford to lose any of their paycheck.
Glad you enjoyed. I liked exploring the idea that instincts are valuable in some circumstances but not as useful in others. It helps me to consider how I might become a better investor.
It's definitely easier said than done. The first step is to recognize that such behaviors exist, then try to fight them n the right situations. Thanks for reading!

From everything I've read, from what doctor's have told me, these foods can cause your blood sugar to rise, which can lead to diabetes.

I love my Mac and don't think I could ever go back to a PC. It works great and syncs so easily to my phone and tablet. Absolutely love it.
