I love the refrigerated coffee creamers. I prefer them to other brands. Just shows that when it comes to taste- it really is a matter of preference. But, I too have things I've tried and won't buy again. Until you learn the store it's trial and error. I didn't know about the guarantee. That will help!
Minimalism is about removing stuff that's in your way to make room for things you enjoy and actually use. Sounds like it's really time for you to go buy a pasta maker and some forks and throw some fancy pasta parties with friends. Having extra dishes and cutlery and maybe beds for guests does not make you a hoarder. Just own everything which you are going to use and to which you attribute positive thoughts.
I think people vary widely on the appropriateness of talking about money. I was taught it is rude to ask or talk about such a private topic but people these days seem to feel it's okay to ask. So, since I don't like to talk about it that's what I say -- "I don't like talking about personal finance issues like this. Sorry. " Repeat as necessary. It's always worked to shut it down!
its all good till they see your 401k then they want you to dip into that and pay them instead. like we dont care what you have to live on when you are old so pay us now!
My husband and I won't even talk with our parents about our finances. One time my father-in-law asked how much we had left on our mortgage, telling us that it should be paid off by a certain age, but we just didn't respond to him.
You brightened my day by posting this! These suggestions are all cute, inspiring, and fairly EASY. It's really not THAT hard to be nice to people, and thinking of them and serving them helps you learn to love them. ALL people. Today, several guys actually held doors open for me throughout the day, and their efforts to be thoughtful brightened my day and lifted my mood as well.
Love this. I almost never pay for flights. Maybe I pay for one in ten? I decided to put all my eggs in one basket with the US Air MasterCard, now AA Advantage, and it has really paid off. I pay for every single thing I can using the card (and pay it off every month) and it really adds up. I've even paid my children's tuition with it.
Thanks. I was screwed out of over $2000 for a little bit of dust. He also said that there was smoke damage in every room when I only smoked in ONE room of the entire 6 room apartment. I lived there for 13 years and kept it as clean as possible considering it was a dump when I moved in. Plus there was water damage everywhere because he refused to fix the leaks in the roof even though he was a ROOFER by trade.
There was baked on grease on the range hood that I simply could not get off. There were rust stains in the toilet and the carpet was stained. All on the day I moved in. Even 10 years later I am still furious about this. I have posted nasty reviews elsewhere and will continue to do so until the day I die.
I just did the Costco Cash Card trick to buy eyeglass frames (same as I was going to buy from a local doctor, but $110 less!!), but they said I cannot buy lenses there unless I'm a member because they have to enter a membership card number when they submit the prescription. Anyone ever order lenses from Costco without a membership without issues??

I find a way to not answer.
I just tell whoever asked the question that I don't feel comfortable answering.
I usually just side-step the question or give a very general answer. Especially if it is something very personal and none of their business!
Granite. Man caves. Jokes about the walk-in closet only having enough space for the woman's shoes.
I just cannot with these people.
I usually refuse to answer the question. Money is something that I keep to myself.
Would NOT buy there shower/bath products. The shampoo and body wash I purchased was horrible.

I usually just ignore the question.

I want to try it out and see how much I can get to help pay my bills and get my kids what they need
I just answer vaguely
I don't think I'm usually asked rude questions, but if I was I would just deflect them.
hysterical!
Market timing is the only strategy for outperforming the average.
I play dumb and respond that someone else (husband, son, financial advisor) handles all the finances, and I only swipe a credit card.
I tell them to mind their own business or that I don't really feel like answering.

Luckily I've never been in this situation before.
