I disagree with the mention of the Administrative Assistant. I've filled this position several times with several different companies, and have never experienced any of the negatives mentioned. If anything, I've felt quite pampered. Perhaps it depends on the company you work for.
I am currently driving a Toyota Rav4 that I purchased used in 2004. I paid cash for it and have the oil changed, tires rotated etc like clock work. It has 255k miles on it and shows no signs of stopping!
I love it so much I may buy another Rav4 when this one needs to be replaced!
I don't get a lot of money questions, and even fewer rude ones, fortunately. I'm pretty honest with people I know well. However, if people I don't know well ask me a rude money question, I try to find a way to sidestep it or sometimes I'll just lie and tell them what I think they want to hear.
It depends, if the question is coming from my parents, I tell them I would rather not get into an argument at the moment. If the question is from anyone else I ask to clarify and answer as honestly as possible. Most people my age are just trying to feel out how other people handle their money and what the best way to go about financial stuff is. The intention is not really to be rude.
Yes above said ways are evident towards handling finance smartly, but at the same time taking initiative to save our environment from further hazards. Also coming up off gadgets & apps has further helped a lot from making any wrong calculations.
No matter the subject if I feel it is too personal I don't answer them and then ask them why they are asking me the question. Depending on the answer they give me dictates how I continue. Usually after they respond I just tell them that I never discuss those issues. The best part is that they don't ever come around again asking what I consider inproper questions.
I haven't been really asked those types of questions yet, since I am young. So generally most questions I'm fine with answering. If I don't want to answer, I'll just say I don't want to answer that
When our sons were teens, the "free breakfast" definitely paid for itself. Of course we checked out all the options first. An extra $10 over the regular room price was cheaper than food on the road. Now we can go without.
I haven't been asked rude questions about money, but have had people make untrue statements about how poorly they think we handle our finances. It's such a shock, I don't know how to respond. It's like answering the question, "When did you stop beating your wife?"
What about the "sensitive" high end washer and dryer I just purchased for $1800 which came with 2,3 year warranties which i've had a mere 3 months and they (manufacturer) are already hassling me to buy the extended warranties ? It's been drilled into my head to never ever ever buy extended warranties but what about warranties for these fancy schmancy machines ? I don't really have *more* money to give the store to give to Electrolux after such a large investment which I paid in full. However, I do regret not buying the extended warranty for the 2001 [first year model] Ford Escape (no I don't) as the thing has been an expensive, frustrating headache since I drove it off the lot because I've basically paid 50% more than the asking price in repairs.
Hi, I want to watch dvd's I've gotten from the UK, on my region 4 Sony BDP-S4100. Is there a code I can use? Please help! I want to unlock it without having to buy a One For All universal remote, that a lot of people have said you needed, in order to make the model multi region. Thanks.
I want to watch a region 2 disc on my Sony BDP-S4100 region 6. Please help!!! I really would like a solution that doesn't require me to buy a OneForAll universal remote as many people have said to do.
Among my family members, it is common to discuss finances. Because I travel alot for work, my family and friends think I am bringing in the money!! When they ask me questions about salary, I simply deflect with that "im doing okay, I have enough money to pay my bills and to live comfortably after.
I have been making homemade dog food since Thanksgiving. I had been reading the recipes on Pinterest and kept saying, "oh, one day I will" After cleaning the turkey this year I got the idea to put the carcass in the slow cooker and use the meat for the dogs. After I threw the bones away, the light bulb really went off. I added the leftover sweet potatoes, cooked some carrots and brown rice. They loved it. I have been experimenting a lot since then adding kidney beans, white potatoes and green beans. I cook up a batch, freeze them in individual zip locks and make enough for 3 weeks for 3 small dogs. 2 Chihuahua's 1 Jack Russell. I also give them some meds like daily vitamins and a new product for joints and heart by milk bone. It is very cost effective but time consuming. Now that I am retired, I am happy to "cook " for the dogs. It has worked out great for me and for them.I am going to make a batch with fish oil pills and apples cored and seeded and may try whole wheat pasta as well.
It depends on the question. I'm pretty open about a lot of financial things--how much I make, what paid for my house, what my wedding cost. I think to think if I really thought something was rude and I didn't want to answer it I would just say so. I'm a Scorpio.

I try to deflect. But if that person is insistent I just say That's Private...and leave it at that.

Handle it like a politician. Answer a question they did not ask with one you want them to hear.

I don't answer finance questions if it's inappropriate. I simply just say "I'd rather not discuss this at the moment."

When I am asked about money questions that I feel uncomfortable in answering. I change the subject. Normally they get the hint.
I put on my astonished look and ask "What charm school did you attend?"

50K is a lot of money? Really?

My "go to" answer is that I never discuss money with anyone but my spouse.

I ordered a Sam's Club card FOUR MONTHS AGO and still haven't received it.
They just stole my $45.
