My family of 6 plus three pets share an 1800 sq. ft. home. It's getting to be a problem.... I have recently discovered that my teenage boys have a somewhat European sense of personal space. I'm not sure if that's a good thing? We have found an amazing house that we love but it's really too large - around 4000 sq. ft. I feel like we'd rattle around in that. I would probably feel guilty about all that space. Maybe we need around 2800-3000 to give us a little breathing room.
Hello Kim Owens,
Thank you for posting this article, it's super! I've never submitted a work for publication but I do have a few short stories that just might be candidates for publication. I'm guessing I am not alone when I say I didn't know who I could contact to offer my stories for publication. Your article gives me some hope and I'm thankful to you for that. I am not saying I have great stories but my Mother likes them and she claims she is totally unbiased. When I read them aloud my dog didn't leave the room either. These positive indicators are so massively encouraging that I am ready to take the next step.
For rule #8 does this mean it's better to haggle only if making a big purchace? But what if that item onewants to haggle for is the only item that's wanted?
i just purchased a second home im downeast maine. id rather not waste money on heat, so i use it judiciously. i only keep one room in the house at 60 degrees, which has an attached bathroom (just a little cooler in there). the rest of the house is kept at 52. i do layer incredibly. for example, this is what i have on now...a long fleece shawl that covers wide and long. a long wool dress, a long, thin cashmere sweater *from thrift shop!*a lycra, mid thigh dress (yes, a second one....its a nice extra thin layer!), a long sleeved thermal shirt of very thin synthetic material, a tank top, a bra, tights, running pants, wool socks, underwear and boots. i can move easily and only my hands are a little chilly...i do not feel that i am suffering. i think its healthier to keep your body at a lower temperature. just like the animals of the forest. if you really give living at lower temperatures a whirl, you will find it easy and fun to do, but you MUST dress correctly. wear as many layers as you can. the layers should be of thin material, and not very tight, so warm air can circulate underneath. keep the outer, topmost layer wearing something dense...like wool. wear a hat to bed. its absolutely AMAZING at how well it works! but, you also have to layer clothes to bed. i do have an electric mattress pad...that i turn on before i get into bed, and it turns off by itself after a couple of hours. as for the pipes freezing, ive wrapped them in the basement, and make sure that the heat at 52 degrees in the house, can reach them. open cabinets under sinks. turn off valves to plumbing not used, and you can even put a little rv antifreeze there if you want.
your pipes wont freeze unless it goes to near zero degrees. dont forget, the temperature INSIDE a house will
Always be warmer than outside.
also, i do live alone, but when my kids visit, i make sure that theyve packed cold weather layer type clothing. you can NOT get sick from being cold. you need to come into contact with a virus or bacteria to get sick. being cold is about getting used to it, then learning how easy it is to do.
I listened more and tried to keep my opinions to myself more often than not. Not always easy but I think it made my life a lot less stressful, surprisingly.
I somewhat disorgree with shopping at a thrift store on sat... reason being that these stores either have full time or part time people that no how to price odd or collectables things, they don't like most of us, do not work wk ends. But the donations keep coming in and put on the shelves, point being their not working to appraise anything..... In Canada there is an expiry date on child seats and other baby items ... beware.
Good article
I just got rid of a skunk in my crawl space. He had been in there for one week. Unfortunately his nest was in the very back corner of my crawl space. I tried several different remedies from soaked cayenne pepper, Paprika rags to ammonia. This had little effect. I then placed two flood lights near the nest, 8ft or so. I place two traps in the shadows away from the light. I use bacon for bait. The next morning when i crawl up in there to check he was in the first trap. My problem now was getting him out without getting sprayed. I put towels over the cage so he could not see me. I picked up the cage an very carefully crawled out of the crawl space. I released him into the woods but repaired the vent where he got in before his release. Hope this helps.
For everyone....I have a LG-2200N model dvd player region 1 ... I can't find an unlock code to play a video of Phantom of the opera I purchased from eBay. ..help ! Thanks in advance.
I have been making New Year's resolutions for over 30 years. Every New Year's Day I sit down and write them. I have found that some resolution are accomplished over time. That is, I will make a resolution but see that it might take several years to actually accomplish it. That is why writing them down and keeping them together so I can read them and reflect on them has inspired me to keep doing it. Seeing the progress I've made over all these years has kept me inspired to keep it as a ritual every year.
2015 was a great year. I accomplished several:
Payed off all my debt
Started a small business that has taken off
Have a yoga practice I'm committed to.
All of these New Year's resolutions were ones I've actually been working on over several years. However, it was this year that I finally accomplished all 3.

Can you please assist me to change my Panasonic HDD/DVD Recorder DMR-EH59 (same as EH49 / EH69) from Region 2 to ALL (Multi Region). Thanking you.
Hi,
All of these 5 shower heads are great but in my opinion, the delta in2ition shower head is the best among all these.
By the way, nice post - You summed up pretty well. Anyways, there are other great shower heads too.
Perhaps you could expand this article by mentioned more of the good shower heads out there.
Thanks John.
All of them are great. I can relate to saving, thrifting, and discerning wants vs. needs. Thanks for the information.
I got a raise at my work!

Thank You,

I paid off my extended financing before there was interest due.
I lost 20 lbs. in 2015
I'm a teenager and I hope I can learn from this but honestly will probably make at least 50% of these mistakes anyway.
I now have an amazing boyfriend and I'm happy with my new life
I know what you are saying sister.
Myself and several people I know by from Zenni Optical and I love them. They offer a large variety, inexpensive and easy to order from.

I moved to a new city and found a great job!
Well, they got the frugal part down.
I'd settle on flipping my mattress and cutting veggies tonight, but I'm afraid my raucous laughter might disturb the neighbors.
Started reading adult (non-children) books again
