Renting a cabin in the mountains with my cousins when I was about 9... we played in the little stream building dams for hours. Water was such a novel plaything since we were all raised as desert rats in Tucson, Arizona!
While I love Tide detergents in all variations, the inclusion of arm and hammer in your list calls into question any testing methods conducted. You can find other reviews of best laundry detergents at atcemsce.org/best-laundry-detergent/. Let me also state that laundry detergent will make your clothes clean provided you apply sensible laundry habits.
Try to separate your colors the right way
Do not stuff the washing machine full of clothes because you need to leave room for proper agitation to get the dirt out.
Use the right amount of detergent and make sure during the rinse circle there is no soap bubbles still in your clothes.
Hope that helps and I do love your blogging style!
My Mom would take us shopping on Saturday mornings. We would walk to the shopping area near us - 2 department stores, 3 dime stores, and lots of mom and pop places. We would have lunch at the Woolworth's counter - turkey dinner under a buck - and I would get a new coloring book or cutouts ( I think those ran a dime ). And yes, this was a long time ago.
These are some good ideas - I especially like the one about the small reward at the end of the month. When we budget, we tend to assign a job to every dollar before it gets to our hands, and we never assign "entertainment".
The one thing I would add is to get inspired. I deliver pizzas part-time for extra money, and while I'm in my car making money, I'm usually listening to Dave Ramsey podcasts. If he's not your cuppa, financial podcasts are a dime a dozen (and I don't mean you have to spend a dime). If podcasts aren't your thing, look at blogs, or borrow financial books from the library. Surround yourself with ideas and stories of people who have succeeded at budgeting and reached the financial goals you desire. Because, if they can do it, absolutely you can, too!
I think it was Susan Cain who said that introverts ace supervising motivated employees. Introverted bosses listen to their people, they delegate and they end up getting the most out of their people. Extroverted bosses are better than introverts when it come to getting the most out of unmotivated employees.
Just because something isn't killing you in a 16 year period, doesn't mean it isn't damaging you in ways you might not associate with that activity. ANY position is going to be damaging if held for too long. The answer is quite simply, to change working positions throughout the day. See Don't Just Sit There by Katy Bowman and Mark Sisson for an indepth look at this topic.
WET & DRY VAC TO UNCLOG SINK DRAINS IS AWESOME!!!!
Thank you for the great idea to use the wet & dry vac on the clogged sink drain.
IT WORKED !!! Just be sure to make a tight seal around the hose and drain pipe, I used duct tape. Also, be sure to clean out your vac hose and the catch tub too.
Thank you again and I hope this idea is useful to many DIY plumbers.
Me and my sister spent a couple of summers in NYC visiting our oldest sister and those were the best childhood memories! No parents around and my sister let us roam NYC during the daytime by ourselves and would take us on the weekends to get pizza, italian ices, visit central park, etc, etc. It was exciting times for a 10 and 15 year old!
My favorite childhood memories would have to be visiting Grandma! She had this great big apple tree in her backyard. Mmmm Grandma's apple pie!
My little sister and I would gather up all the apples that fell to the ground and Grandma made the best applesauce from them. :)
My favorite thing about Fall is how you can feel the seasons changing. There is still some warmth in the air, but you feel that cool, crisp, fresh, breeze on your nose and cheeks.
Oh, and I am NOT a fan of pumpkin spice ANYTHING. Yuck! lol :)
Great list of jobs! I'm with you on the serial comma. I'm sure you'd like to know that the Newbery Medal is named after the Britsh printer John Newbery, which is the reason it only has one 'r'. Cheers from a librarian.
The company I work for offers lots of little benefits. $3000 per year in tuition reimbursement. Pet insurance. Discount on health club memberships. These little perks do add up and are great. I have people who won't go and take a class at their local community college at work because it costs to much even though the cost would be covered. I use this to my advantage of either taking 1 class per year at a top university, or spacing out classes at my community college to take a learn about a bunch of different areas.
I would love for a travel voucher to be included at my work. Would help while trying to travel globally.

Playing games as a family.
Going trick or treating with my mom. I would get a huge bag full of candy and dump it all on the living room floor and she would help me sort it.
I just got an adjustable height desk so I can stand , sit or just adjust the height. A terrific improvement over a fixed height desk IMO.
Wow - the Walkout is risky, but glad it worked! Interesting scenarios here!
Spending the entire summer at our cottage on the lake.

Yeah, this is why I have a standing desk WITH a treadmill. :-)

I co-signed an auto-loan for my daughter (who is just starting out and has no credit) but was declined with a credit score of 844.
Not paying bills!!
My favorite childhood memory is watching my brother play video games (and occasionally joining him on multiplayer). I don't have any children yet.
