We were a family of six so vacations had to be on the cheap. My favorite memory is going camping with a pop-up trailer to Yellowstone National Park - way back in the day. We had so much fun cooking over a fire, hiking and enjoying the heck out of camping in general. It's still a fun adventure for families to go camping together.
So many great memories! I remember our first family vacation to Myrtle Beach. The weather was perfect and we were all "old enough to really appreciate it."
For my/our 7th birthday (twins), my parents brought the picnic table into the living room. Our b-day is a couple of weeks before Christmas, so we and our friends made stained glass cookies with sugar cookie dough and crushed Lifesavers. (The candy melted in the oven.)
I don't think I could pick one favorite memory. But one of the ones I remember the most was traveling as a family to the mountains for the first time and camping on top of a mountain.
Coming out of the tent in the morning, seeing the sun rising on the other mountain peak, and seeing all the wildlife - amazing experience.
My favorite childhood memory is spending Christmas with my family. We would have a big dinner on Christmas Eve, and I would always go to bed excited anticipating what Santa might have left during the night.
Lots of parts of the holiday season come together to make my favorite childhood memory. The smell of food cooking / baking, sitting around the TV watching football with the family, crisp weather outside. All those things are what I remember as my best childhood memory.
My favorite childhood memory is going camping with my family. My dad rented a pop-up trailer that he pulled behind the station wagon and even though it looked small, actually slept 6. We visited relatives in Michigan and camped in the northern part and the Upper Peninsula.
I have a big Italian family and my favorite childhood memory was gathering at my grandparents house with all my cousins, aunts, uncles, parents and siblings every Christmas Eve and enjoying traditional Italian holiday food, playing with my cousins and watching my grandfather hand out an envelope with $20 inside to all 20 of his grandchildren. I will never forget those times and well always cherish them in my heart.
I live and work overseas in Africa and just discovered my credit card was cancelled without notice. I was confused because I had payed off all my bills regularly and had been a customer for many years. Apparently, after paying one bill online, a 1 dollar interest charge popped up and started accruing late fees for the next three months. Since I live in a rural area I had no way of knowing this until the next time I used my card, I payed the total balance not even knowing I had carried the one dollar charge, and then they cancelled the card after the payment was received.
When I just spoke with them on the phone they said there was a small possibility of them being able to reinstate the account. I'm disinclined to do business with them, but I'm not sure whether it would be in the best interest of my credit score to maintain that account if possible. Any advice--or similar experiences??
I should mention that one of the myths on the company side of mystery shopping (the Mystery Shopper Try To Be "Difficult Customers" ) is based on the fact that there are people out there that will claim they are secret shoppers as a way to get something.
I'm kind of a cheapskate, so I'd rather use all the lesson money towards music material. And with all the resources on the internet, the small difference would that someone is personally telling you what is being done wrong. On the other hand, violins are really tricky and a beginner could easily break a string trying to tune it.
The trouble is finding a good roomie if you're the picky type (myself). I've used craigslist twice and out of the two roommates that I selected, I literally had to weed through at least 30 people before making a selection. Some other websites out there make it a bit easier and faster that are just for roommates. I found roomster.com to be terrible though. I just started using airroomies.com and so far it seems to be the best. Good luck hunting!
My favorite childhood memory is the race to the little league concession stand after a win!
