I find the older I get, the less tolerance my brain has for visual noise. Perhaps it's the constant onslaught of information that my brain has to process due to the internet, texting, etc... that has put me over the edge. My OCD definitely gets worse with more clutter. That said, I have discovered that downsizing my belongings to just the things I love has been liberating. I think you'll love how much better your brain works once you've removed your small stash from your house. Clutter, especially for women, causes a lot of stress.
It's pretty clear, the stable and mature first-world economies--with the possible exception of Bulgaria--have a strong banking system and can afford to give low interest rates. The high interest, high risk countries are weak, unstable, second/third world nut cases and MUST offer high interest rates to incentivize citizens who do not trust their banking, political, and economic systems. I'd be more worried if placed like Switzerland, Denmark, or Sweden offered double digit interest rates.
I called a man on Craig's list selling a small apartment size oven. He told me that he owned a apartment building, and the oven for sale was from one of his units. So , he quotes me a price of $250, and I agree to purchase the oven. I go to this building with my husband to purchase the oven. The guy shows up 20 minutes past the agreed time, takes us into a basement through one of those storm shelter type doors. Once we're in the basement the guy says the oven is gone he don't know what happened to it , and starts searching through different rooms looking for this oven. He apologized, and we left. Don't know for sure if we were being set up for a robery or not. The experience was a bit strange.
Remember most parents will not let their kids eat strangers' homemade treats now, and will simply throw them away. Try handing out something like glow sticks from the dollar store.
As a freshman in high school, I got a job in telephone sales, trying to get people to buy aluminum siding. Everyone hung up. Turns out it was a front for illegal business!
Ironically, the small (but no less obtrusive) amount of clutter I'm holding onto is because I've been too busy working to set aside time to deal with it! And it is indeed coming at a cost: a crowded kitchen makes eating out even more tempting, the clothes I no longer wear crowd out the ones I do, and I'm starting to think a shopping trip might solve my dilemma. Thanks for the reminder: I know how I'm spending my weekend!
In the hospital recently bad asthma attack.
High doses of steroids to control the asthma caused high spike in blood sugar which may come back to normal as I am tapered off of prednisone steroid.
One thing that was emphasized during my hospital stay was portion control and no seconds. Use a 8 or 9 inch plate not a big one and don't stack it high with food. Half of the plate should contain lettuce and other fresh salad veggies. The other half of the plate contains a portion of meat (preferably chicken or healthy fish like Salmon) no larger or thicker than the palm of your hand and a portion of vegetables.
Also research and keep in mind Low Salt (sodium), Low Carbohydrate (especially Low Starch (Potatoes, Breads, Pasta, etc are very high in Carbs!), and when combined with Low Fat foods, Low Fat cooking techniques, and mild daily exercise weight drops quickly!
If you can work at these activities with someone else it reduces the emotional stress of dealing with all of this.
There are support groups and classes that may be available close to where you live and probably support groups on-line too. Some are free and some may cost (my insurance may pay for classes if I want to attend).
Use Google and search for diabetes support group.
Not really. Even if all the people using credit cards were "deadbeats" like me, who never pay interest or fees, the banks would still make money off the fees they charge to merchants - generally between 2% and 2.5% on each transaction. Plus there's a monthly fee and a transaction fee on top of that. They get their pound of flesh one way or another.
This post is irresponsible without mentioning WHY these banks offer "crazy" interest rates. Interest rates have to do with inflation, as you kind of implied in your Swiss write-up. If anything is crazy, it's inflation in these countries. Due to inflation, banks need to pay higher interest rates in order for saving to be worth it to individuals - otherwise they are better off buying goods/assets that are going to rise in price due to inflation.
#6 "Read this carefully: If you can't afford something that you can absolutely live without, you do need it."
I read this carefully and I think it was written incorrectly. Should read: If you can't afford something and you can absolutely live without, you DON'T need it.
I bought an iPad recent for $499 plus tax. I asked them if they could do $499 tax included and they looked at me like I was crazy. I KNEW they were making more profit then they DESERVED. I mean really, these things are made by cheap labor forces in China and I DESERVE things at a lower price then what they are advertised for or what the manufacturer suggests they retail for because I'M a SMART CONSUMER. .... SO I took my business to the local Staples and bought a yellow notepad. MUCH MUCH lower price and I can write all of the stuff I need to on there. Take THAT APPLE. How DARE YOU try to make me pay a premium price for something that, even though I have no means of making it myself, I am entitled to get for a lower price. Thanks wisebread - let's continue turning middle class paying sales jobs into minimum wage crap jobs. It's not like car salesmen do anything anyway! None of them spend any time in training sessions or in their off time to learn what they're selling and actually help people make a decision that works for them. The internet allows me to know everything. Leep up the good work.
My first job was taking care of a particular type of slug ("Limax") for a biology professor at Princeton University. He needed them for brain experiments and bred them in plastic boxes in a huge refrigerated room. My job involved feeding them and cleaning out their tanks. Not sure it had any impact on my future life, but it was fun hanging out with scientific types.

Very good advice. I am the person who always has the intention of cleaning and organizing, I only find it difficult to set aside time to actually do!
I was the snack shack girl at a 18 hols golf course, I loved it, read all day in the sun waiting on old men!

Is there any other states that have this rule? I'm having this issue in Georgia.

Babysitting
Thank you for catching that!
First I was a babysitter. Once I was old enough, I started working at a grocery and at a pharmacy.

first job was housekeeping, paid 'under the table'. I learned that you have no guarantee of getting paid that way!

my first job ever was babysitting
My first job was working as a cashier at an electronics store.
My first job was a waitress at a local Italian restaurant.
It was fast food.
A babysitter!
I can attest to reducing food waste by having a smaller fridge. Ours is 10 cu. ft., and while we're far from perfect, we throw out a LOT less food!
