I like to shop at thrift stores because often you find unique items at a reasonable price. For the items you just can't get at a thrift store, Amazon is great - huge selection, good prices, and lots of reviews to learn about the products. My one window shopping weakness is Bed Bath & Beyond. I love to look at all the kitchen wares and appliances there.
Thanks for the tips! There are definitely times when it's appropriate to borrow from your life insurance. What would the typical interest rate look like on a loan such as this?
TJ Maxx is my favorite place to shop because they usually have anything I'm looking for-clothing, shoes, home décor, beauty products, etc. and you can't beat the prices for the quality you're getting.
Amazon.com (I have Prime), Macy's (quality goods at reasonable prices and killer clearance sales.), Marshall's (I love their home goods dept.), consignment stores (for really good stuff at low prices.)
BTW...I find some of these entries questionable...as if they were written by one of the stores' employees.
Actually, I do most of my shopping on Amazon. Since I cannot drive or walk even short distances because of my lung cancer, I love that Amazon brings it right to my door!
Honestly I love shopping at Amazon the most. I can get my orders in two days (sometimes sooner) I generally have store credit I can use and no hassles whatsoever!
If you live in the country and you have a well, dripping faucets can cause the pump to cycle in and off and eventually add to your electric bill. And if you have a septic tank, eventually all those extra gallons of water flowing into the septic tank will cause a stinking mess to bubble up somewhere on your property down the line. I guess it does well to ponder whether or not to fix a leaking faucet or two, but really, all is relative, kind of like...letting your bank account drip a little over the years by buying extra stuff you don't really need. : ).
Amazon. We buy stuff from salad dressing (variety that is no longer sold in local grocery stores) to college books to a new timing belt kit for my Honda to a new mattress and drinking water hose for our camper to a pet food container, etc.
The best are harvest season farmers' markets. Finding locally grown food that can be frozen, canned, or eaten as is is awesome (so is paying the farmer directly)!
I've moved to mostly online shopping for stores that are in my area so that I can try things on and return them to the store. I also use shop runner a lot so I can return items for free. Most of it is clothing from Kohls and lord an taylor.
I love each and every one of these foods! Even the lima/butter beans! I'm an adventurous eater, my mom loved to explore different foods, and we had to try something before we said we didn't like it. We didn't a have to eat it if we didn't like it, but we had to try.
A couple of things to think about is how our tastes can change over time, and how one variety or source of something can be different than another. And sometimes it is just how you prepare it, like your article says.
I went from loving mayo as a young child, hating it until my late teens, then loving it again.
When I grew up in NJ I loved our local raw oysters (and clams!). When I lived in VA the local oysters tasted chalky to me, great cooked but not good raw. Then I went to Tyndall AFB near Panama City, FL, and their oysters were fantastic.
My husband hated eggplant until I made roasted eggplant and tomato salad. Now we grow extra eggplant so we can have it more often! But my daughter still doesn't like it.
Sadly I am on a low sodium diet now and anchovies are out, as is most flash frozen fish due to the sodium tripolyphospate added. That and they contain so much extra water due to the tripolyphosphate that I hate to buy them, paying for water that I have to squeeze out them. :<

I like to shop at places that save me money, like Aldi. Or department stores that put out good coupons.

I love shopping at Target. Online, Amazon is my favorite, but I love browsing at Target.
I love to shop on Amazon and Ebay. They offer the best deals and quality.
I like shopping at Target! They have a great selection and prices!
I love bread! In Thailand, there are many bread variations. Even white bread tastes better in Thailand.
