We shop the most at Costco. We buy wine, produce, meat, dairy, electronics, just about anything. An enjoyable shopping experience is when we find good value for our money.
When our boys were little a space saving strategy for us was to build a shelving unit that would hold clear plastic storage tubs. The upper part of the unit had shelves for books and the lower part was deeper with shelves approximately 6" apart on which plastic tubs sat. One tub was for Lincoln Logs, another for Legos and still another for balls. All together we had seven tubs of various sizes in a shelving unit less than 3' wide.
Wow, it never occurred to me to slip in a different card to keep the electricity on! That, combined with the do not disturb sign, and you'd be safe to leave electronics in the room! Thanks!
We freeze a lot of meat with a family of five. We purchased an industrial freezer that does not go through a defrost cylce. This is the best way to preven freezer burn.
Many banks now offer cash back deals at stores and restaurants when you use your debit card. This allows you to stay debt free and make money also. Win win!
I buy refried beans, canned sliced mushrooms, garlic, broccoli, orleans sardines in hot sauce, sometimes mangos, sometimes asparagus, sometimes lettuce if im going to use it quick (always spoils faster than the date), lint rollers, sponges, and paper plates at the $ store. That's pretty much it.
If the vegetables arent there or aren't good I buy them when I wait for boneless skinless chicken to go on sale (then I buy like 20 pounds of chicken) That's pretty much my entire diet.

One thing we've found to be helpful, and this may seem old fashioned, but it's to have a mutually agreed upon written budget. If something isn't in the budget, no one is the kill joy. The budget is the "bad guy". And if an unexpected expense comes up, both of you can examine the budget for the slack to cover. It takes finances out of the personal realm and makes it a problem to be solved by two brains.
The second is to have a bit of personal mad money, no matter who earns what. This was especially comforting when we made very little. I could eat mac/cheese out of a box a couple times a week, knowing there was an extra $10 if need be. My husband could do the same if he knew he could get a can of coke once and a while without busting the bank. It kept us sane during some really hairy times.
I'm a big fan of Amazon - online shopping is a godsend when working long hours and wanting to spend weekends just relaxing! Amazon Prime is definitely a great investment if you shop often and want to get your items quickly. I also like grocery shopping at Publix. Prices are a little more expensive than other grocery stores, but I like their business model of giving employees shares/ownership of the company so I'm willing to spend a little more.
Bi-weekly programs are great but your math is off a little for most banks. Mortgage companies want to charge you extra fees to set up the biggest-weekly plan. If you don't pay for the plan your bank wil hold the payment until the other comes in and you gain nothing. I've seen several programs where the fees outweigh the advantages.
It depends on what I am shopping for, it could be walmart for groceries and household items, to target for some clothing and hh items, or pennys for just clothing.
I like to shop at Target the best. I can find everything from groceries to clothes to items for our home there and they are usually very reasonably priced. They always have a sufficient number of check out lanes open (as opposed to Walmart) also.

Take two slices, put some BBQ in between (& cheese!) and then place in a Panini maker! Hot, great flavor and cheesy!
Love all of these fun (and useful) uses for Mason jars! You can also use them to contain gifts.
