I love how some of these ideas are so liberating and they don't all focus on yourself. Being generous to others is one of the best ways to feel good without being selfish. It is great karma to send out into the universe, and if you can make just one person smile during the day, then you too have a reason to smile. Being childish is a great one. You can do this without playing with children; acting silly by dancing around, playing an old board game, or telling jokes to friends are all ways to have fun and feel good.
the answer to that question is yes and no. you are address by your dressing but may not be who you really are. false teachers can come in sheep clothing. the language of the pocket may not be the language of appearance. i flamboyantly dressed one day but on able to buy a bottle of sans to digest a donut. but sometimes creditworthiness is determined by your look. the flamboyant appearance tells me that there is money in his pocket. so we need to treat everyone nicely cos you don't know who you are dealing with.
I've used lemons in a bunch of different ways as a great beauty product. In addition to the ways you listed here, its also a great way to get rid of post-acne scars. Rubbing some lemon on areas of your face that are darkened from acne marks can lighten them.
I really enjoyed this article. It has simple but tremendous little principles to living a highly enjoyable life. I especially like the tip of doing something new. It made me think, "when is the last time I did something new." Not just a new slant on something I do all the time (discovering a new blog), but genuinely something that I've never tried before. Great food for thought.
Great article! I always convience myself, especially at the onset of the football season that paying an exhobinant amount for cable is 100 percent necessary. Even worse, I convience myself that at least once every other week that I need to hit sports bar and drop $30-40 to watch the same game I can watch from the comfort of my own home.
...do people actually CHOOSE to use prepaid debit cards? I think they're fine if you're 15 or if it's gift card money but that's about it. When I worked retail, they forced us to put our paychecks into prepaid debit cards. It was the stupidest thing ever.
Thank you for the article. These are helpful tips because often the busyness of life can prevent us from utilizing safe practices to protect our identity. We often think that things are always going to be ok, but as your opening story indicates accidents happen to all of us.
The only one I'll quibble with is changing your own oil. I'm pretty DIY-focused - I do just about everything else on this list myself - but I pay to have my oil changed. If you shop around for deals and coupons, you can get it done no more than $10 more than the oil and filter will cost you. You keep yourself and your driveway clean, they take care if disposing of the waste oil, and you save yourself an hour or two. Seems like a bargain to me.
I just wanted to add www.houseofbeth.com to the list - they sell second hand designer clothes (and some high street it seems) which is why it is a lot cheaper but it isn't confusing like ebay as there aren't lots of different sellers and everything is photographed well. It is kind of like an upmarket charity shop online because 50% of each sale goes to charity.
DO NOT donate your hair to Locks of Love ,These people are getting rich off of your donations ,They receive hair from all over the world ,everyday. They sell your hair to a asian market for money.Very few children ever see wigs made from donated hair. Children that have lost there hair and the doctors tell them that in time it will grow back are not able to get wigs .The only children that can get wigs are the few that really can not grow it back and they have to be poor ,Rich opeople have to buy there wigs. So Think twice about giving your beautiful hair to Locks of Love .If you care about these few children ,sell your hair online and give the money to a cancer research center for children.That way you will be helping the children that are poor and really need help.If you do not beleive this ,go online and look it up yourself.
Many investors (banks, mortgage lenders) have the policy to NOT modify a loan unless the borrower is in default. The reason being, then more and more people would attempt to alter their deals whether or not they had a legitimate hardship.
Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac just recently decided to change their policies and allow for loan modifications like short sales for borrowers who are still current on their mortgage.
Interesting post that challenges some 'common wisdom' that we often buy into. With regard to rewards cards, your point that average monthly spend increases is probably accurate. The nuance here is that many people with rewards cards simply move other spending to their rewards card that they were previously paying with cash, a check or debit card.
I agree it would be a problem if a person's net spending increased (lets go out to dinner, after all we get points) vs. simply using the card to pay the utility bill, car insurance or fill-up at the gas station that would have happened anyway.
The key is paying it off in full at the end of the month because running a balance makes for very expensive points or miles.
Shopping for bulk items anywhere can be tricky. Don't assume that a multi-pack offers a better deal than the same items purchased separately at any store. Target has become notorious for levying a tax on people who can't calculate unit cost - their bulk-packed items are regularly much more expensive than the same number of individual packages.
nice article, and i can answer a 3.5 YES to the questions. definitely, i am getting the boot.
reasons:
1) i have been transferred to a position of less responsibility;
2) my ex-boss resigned [i am not sure whether he resign willingly, or someone force him to pack & leave. until now, my ex-boss doesn't want to reveal it];
3) i am not in the loop for some of the important things;
4) jobs with no chance of success or impossible [imagine have to trace the whole network route for the company, with no high-tech tools or any specialize software, using only a LAN cable tester...sounds crazy].
anyway, i have prepared for this few weeks back, and i am leaving for good.
I work at Wendy's as a Grill Cook/Operator, and I can say that I never let the chili meat sit in the warming drawer for longer than one hour. I know it's fast food, but damned if I'm gonna end up making someone sick and possibly losing my job. Jobs are too hard to find, these days.. Now, the other grill cooks on the other hand: I can't guarantee a thing.
Um...ringtones and wallpaper for your phone? I don't pay for those in my 20s. Most phones allow you to use photos you've take as wallpapers, or you can take a picture from online and put it on your memory card to be a wallpaper. And with a great app called ringdroid, I can take the music I put on my phone, cut out my favorite piece and creat my own ringtones and notification sounds.
was supposed to say safew from natural disaster.........not crime! lol But thank you for the info.
great recipe, i had a quick question, wld you eat 1 or 2 as a bfast meal?...and also, do you happen to know the calorie cnt on these yummy bites?...

Will lenders follow suit? We'll see...
I have personally helped several borrowers through short sales, and write about it on my blog. You can see more here: http://go2mortgageguy.wordpress.com/2012/08/27/5-things-you-must-do-to-c...
I love to use Baking powder to clean.

The toilet paper wedding dress is pretty ridiculous. From the picture you can't really even tell it isn't a traditional wedding dress.
I like you on Facebook
My little one isn't in school yet so the only supplies I buy are for charity - and I'm done for the year.

Thanks for the mention!
I haven't even started yet! My younger son is going to be a H.S. senior this year, so there's not a lot we need besides notebooks.
