To join my husband at our mail order business. Health insurance is the item holding us back, I hold a job for the medical benefits because we can't affors it on our own. Please being middle aged prices you out of the market even with a very high deductable.
My wife does the same thing. Whenever we have leftovers, we're sure to have a "recycled" meal the following day. And I'm not complaining because she's pretty good at it.
I also don't fully agree with point number 1 (depends on the size of the company). However, a nod to all of the other bullets.
I have two friends that work for very large corporations in the Silicon Valley. Both are hiring managers. I had this conversation with them before and they both told me that they will not look at resumes/applications that were sent directly to them without an introduction. Introduction meaning an internal / external referral. If they received a random application/resume directed to them, it goes to the bottom of the pile below the internet applications that can be filtered using keyword searches.
Don't kill the messenger, but I doubt they were lying to me.
I'd love to be an "academic coach" at the college where I teach as an adjunct. The school needs someone to track down struggling students and work with them to get their grades up. As it is, students are put on academic probation if they're in danger of failing, but there's no support offered after that. They can go to the tutoring center or to workshops about stuff like time management, but these students need somebody to keep tabs on them to make sure they're applying the skills they learn in workshops, etc. I love working with students, and I know I could be great at helping students improve their GPAs. I'm woefully underpaid as an adjunct, so the salary wouldn't even have to be great to be an improvement!
My dream job is to write and travel around the world, volunteering in whatever city I'm in, always creating valuable knowledge and insight and guidance!
Yep, you nailed it! Routines help us get quickly through the daily "grunt work" so we can put more time, more energy, and more of ourselves into the more important work - whether that's being creative, building a side business, being with our family, or having some fun.
Set up two savings pots; a true, never to be touched until retirement savings pot, and a splurge savings pot, where you get guilt free access to enjoy the here and now. That way you can still have both, albeit both will limit each other in the amounts deposited, but it will help to achieve that balance we all seem to be seeking.
My best mom advice was to be practical. Sure, I wanted to blow my savings on the fancy frocks, but what I really needed were the classics for work and school. Thanks, mom!
Dream job = stylist/fashion coordinator that gets to check out all the NY sample sales, vintage stores (and can afford to do so) orrr have a TV show about food and fashion and just be really creative while talking/advising about both. Yep, sign me up!
I have my dream job working for a media company. I make enough money to live on and have an almost totally flexible schedule, so I can just concentrate on doing the job and having fun!
I am reading some of these commits and its crazy how stupid some people are. First of all I have been a netspend customer for 5 years and I have been a very happy customer. Those debit cards are not fake or a scam. I also have a saving account with netspend. I pay bills and have my pay check deposited. I like netspend better than my wells fargo account. Those of you who are tallking bad about the company need to research it in full. If you get a card from them just cut it up and that is it.
Every one of us has a storage space space, basement, underground room, or garage area stacked high with factors that we no more want or need. So why are they seated around gathering dirt or decaying away? Take a day to fresh out the mess and put them up on the market, whether it’s on your entry or on the Online. If you have products that you think are more useful than what you will get for them at a garden purchase, take them to a pawnshop. Pawnshops are great for gadgets, musical technology equipment, bracelets, and resources.

But how can you say no to fresh fritattas and crepes?
My mother taught me to buy the basics - it would make it easier to mix and match and create all sorts of outfit variations.

My dream job would be as an antiques/vintage buyer. I think I have a great eye for what sells.

I also liked the Facebook page!
I would love to be a college professor--in fact, I'm going back to school to get my PhD next year!

Hope you like it as much as I do! That one gave a whole new life to plain old white rice for me.
Great tips - thanks! And you're right. I love avgolemono! Thanks for adding that one.
