We are not currently saving because we're trying to pay off debt. Once that is taken care of, we are motivated to save for retirement and vacations. We need a little fun in our lives and don't want to have to work until they put us under.

After relocating to a new city, I was lucky to discover a second-run theater, which runs movies that are no longer in the major theater but haven't been released on DVD yet, and tickets cost $1.99 per seat.
I had the blessing of being raised by parents who knew the value of hard word and the true cost of a dollar. They both had very labor-intensive jobs that required long hours and gave inadequate pay. Seeing them work as I grew up instilled in me a motivation to be financially stable and responsible. I am a young adult but nonetheless most of what I earn go into my savings. Paying off college loans is another great motivation!

Not sure it makes sense. You can secure a 15 year fixed loan at 3.3%, and if you're in the highest tax bracket, you're only paying 2.3% or so. I'd rather invest the cash somewhere else that earns more than 2.3%
My cheap way eating vegetable are Wal-Mart Great Value items, particularly frozen
On the label, say, peas, are just that--NO Salt, etc
Even some can vegetables are labeled NO Salt, etc
I see about two movies a year in a traditional theatre, but I love drive-in season! It's a much better deal ($7 per person to see THREE movies!), plus the dogs can come along.
Back when I was vegan, I really enjoyed the heck out of fruit. Not bananas so much, as I've never really liked those, but melons, apples, berries, and whenever I could get them, exotic fruit like lychee and jackfruit. It felt like indulgence, but wasn't.
When I was feeling lazy, I found Indian food to be my best option for take-out. Many Indians are vegan, and even if they aren't, the culture is familiar with the concept of animal-free diets.
Every 6 to 18 months there is something out that is worth seeing with friends who are also going, often also because of having a gift certificate. It is too expensive to be worth it for the most part.
I probably see movies in the theater 4 times a year, usually either when we take the kids to see something or on a date night. I'm not really sure it's worth the money usually. I'd prefer to do something more interactive.

For me personally I have managed to get a job that I always thought I wanted only to find there is so much nonsense that goes on from above that it is practically impossible to do the job the way I would like. Too many regulations and things. I also am finding that I do not actually feel like it is that worthwhile but then there are ways maybe it could be better. But then again, maybe if I did manage to change them things I may still not be satisfied with it.
I am thinking that maybe this is not really the job for me, but then maybe it is. So what I propose to do is to see it through for another 5 months and at the same time try to consider more and more alternatives by looking at job descriptions on job hunting sites and seeing if any feel better. At the end of the day I dont think I want a job at all. I think I want to be financially worry free. Essentially my real goal in life is to win the lotto so that I no longer have to feel pressured into living this world of work. I could then use money that I had to do things that would satisfy me more like helping people. Being able to not have to worry about paying bills would give me more freedom to really find what I want. And more freedom to focus on these things. I am guessing that many other people will agree here and many will say yes, I want to win the lotto too. I have had many comments from many people saying how it would be hard living in a world where you were a lotto winner, because you would come into contact with people who had made money who would see you as just a person who did not actually achieve your wealth. I dont care what they think. I want to win. Also I have had people say it could be hard to manage a large amount of money, but if that was the case then I could find someone to help me with that and pay them enough so it would not be a problem. The thing I want more than anything in the world is to win the lotto jackpot. I love my family, and my friends and I could bring them all something that they dream of if I was to win. I hear what everyone is going to say to this, that its a dream and the chances are very slim and that everyone wants it. I can even hear the skeptics saying its just not possible and that I am wasting my time thinking of such things, I should be spending more time doing things that could achieve making money. And to that I say yes I could spend more time trying to make money, but I would be trying to make it. I have not the first idea how to make a lot of money. I have tried lots of jobs and things and doing them has not now and will not ever bring me the kind of financial worry free life I want. I have thought about business and what I could do that could result in me making millions but I just dont feel sure that any one of those paths could lead to what I want. The only way is to win. I want to be a winner. I great big winner. I want to win. I hope everyone gets this now. I really want to win. I dont want it because I think it will bring me happiness, I know it wont. It will merely bring me financial freedom. This is what I want. My happiness is there no matter what, but I dont want to spend time doing crap jobs that I am bored with after 10 weeks anymore. And I dont want to keep changing jobs all the time either, looking for something new all the time just so I can make sure my rent is paid or that I can afford my daughters school trip. I want to be presented with things to pay for and think 'is this what I want or not' and know that either decision will not cause a tonne of worry about if I can afford it.

I will go to the theater on some occasions and spend the money (new Avengers movie will be the next big one) but it all depends on the theater, and the movie... Ive been in a few theaters where the screen is so blurry that you cant make out the actors faces (waste of money!)... I do enjoy watching the movies at my apartment though... I have a nice HDTV with a media center underneath, which Ive calibrated with THX blue glasses and a cheap surround sound. (both make a huge difference!) I've found one of the best things I could do was to sign up for websites that give out advanced movie screenings. Usually if you show up about an hour early, you're guarantied to get in.. Saving has always been ingrained in me since I was a kid and its not a surprise that I took a double masters in finance to set my life out.However, these days saving has been ardent and a bonding agent in my family to get out of debt. We have been working hard to pay off our mortgage fair and square(no other debts by grace of god) before our son grows up with his own demands and needs @ college age.
We used to go to the theaters pre-baby as our friday night out date...is it possible with a toddler in tow and not spend moola on a babysitter and the works if parents need a date to hit the movies....no family here and usually our trusted friends r busy 2 take babysitting roles...so we prefer $1 rentals...movie is not going anywhere so we will wait till its out on dvd to catch-up...

I've only seen 2 movies in theaters in the last 2 years, so I guess the answer here would be "practically no".
