No we usually wait for the movies to come out on DVD, we will rent them first to see if we like them before buying them. The theatres are so expensive that we cant swing the extra very often.
C'mon! Lighten up and don't be haters, guys. This list is helpful for those of us who don't have the time to browse the farmers' produce. I'm always on the fly, so I like these lists to help me plan my menu before I ever make it to the market or Whole Foods. By finding this one, I now know in which months it would be best to create/serve certain dishes. The info on Epicurious and Eat the Seasons was very helpful as well. Finding this site gave me a lot more info. Thanks to all!
I end up going to a few movies in the theater. It helps to work at a university to get cheap movies on campus. Most of the time, however, it is not the cost that is prohibitive, it is more of a time issue. Course, we don't watch DVDs at home very often either after getting burned by Netflix.
Well, in the Bay Area you've got to shell out considerable dough to match 2,500 square feet (and we don't have basements), but a lot of those things apply to houses here. A 1,000 - 1,200 foot ranch is probably the norm in a lot of towns. The house we bought is ~ 2,000 square feet and has a cathedral ceiling - but I think it may have been because we both grew up in larger houses with, you guessed it, vaulted living rooms.
I think there is one benefit I hope we don't go back on... multiple bathrooms. For the most part we've eliminated the long bathroom line in the morning!
We go see movies in theaters every once in awhile. We do it cheaply by going to matinees or getting military/student prices. We have a souvenir cup for cheap refills and sometimes get free popcorn by buying gift cards. We also spend alot of time at the dollar theaters.
I have not seen a movie in the theater in probably about 2-3 years. I wait until they come out and borrow them from my parents or until they are available on Netflix.
I prefer to watch movies at home. No cell phones, people talking, tall people (I'm short), the food is cheaper, and I can pause and go to the bathroom! It has been a long time since I've been to the theater, but with netflix, I feel like I have seen most everything I want to.
We subscribe to HBO, we have a Roku box where we subscribe to Netflix (paid) and other miscellaneous movie channels (free), and we use On Demand rather than going to the movies. Using these three options, we never feel deprived of seeing the latest movies, plus we save a lot of money because we're huge movie buffs. Theater-going is reserved for special occasions or extra-special movies that lend themselves to being watched on the big screen.
Very Seldom. I wait for the DVD. I love that I can stop the DVD for treats and pit stops. I can watch it when I want in the comfort of my home. Ticket prices are too much for me to go to the move frequently. I usually get my DVDs from the public library or Netflix.
Rarely. It has to be something special to warrant the prices.
I also follow on facebook and liked the post.
Thanks for the articles. We fly a lot and it is expensive, but we do look for the best deals we can find. Free is always been the best!
If its a movie I really want to see, I see it theaters if we have a gift card from our credit card points. Otherwise we wait!

Not unless it is a very visual film ie Lord of the Rings. It is not so cold at home and the food is better.

Mostly we rent from Redbox, but if it is something special we will go to the movies.
The last time we went to a movie in a theater was to see "The Lion, the witch & the wardrobe".

I like the theatre for the 3D movies, but usually wait for the DVD.
That is a GREAT idea!
