I have social media specials for my restaurant for our followers on Twitter, Facebook and FourSquare. These special range from a free glass of house wine to a free appetizer or dessert with the purchase of an entree.
Glad I am not the only one. It's 56 degrees in here at 10am PST(it was 54 when I got up) and I have on 3 sweatshirts and my little space heater is keeping me warm. I refuse to shell out money to PG&E, who raised their rates. 65% of my income(I'm retired)goes towards my overhead which includes my mortgage, which I cant qualify to refinance.
Bundling up is no big deal.
I definitely think that making a resume targeted to the specific job you're applying for is worth the effort, especially if you freelance and have several different gigs you can highlight.
I live in the Bay area of Calif and when the temp in the house goes below 55, the furnace goes on. But that is rare and only when my family visits me.
I use three space heaters in the areas where I sit and the rest of the rooms in the house are closed. Even though I have a fire place, I stopped burning wood because of the concern for air pollution. Sometimes the air outside and inside is the same temp
so it seems warm.
Things I love most about my job:
1. Camaraderie with co-workers - we laugh, fight, bicker and do great work because of it.
2. Autonomy - able to prioritize and design my own projects and for the most part come and go as I please.
3. Support - A direct manager that is supportive (personal and professional) of each team member and treats us like individuals with lives in and out of the work place.

Thanks for your comments! I've worked as a teacher before, and it's a bit too stressful for me, although others seem to thrive on the fast pace and interaction with students. I guess this option would be best for those who have easy access to child care (perhaps grandma is retired and wouldn't mind watching the kids on short notice?). You can always decline a job if it doesn't work out for your schedule. But I agree, this one requires a bit more disruption in your routine.
I have a pretty flexible start time at my job, which is a major plus because sometimes I "snooze" excessively.
Also, my job presents numerous lucrative opportunities for me to travel and/or relocate for work. Perfect for me since I get bored very easily. I'd say I relocate once every three years and travel 50-75%, depending on necessity.
My favorite low cost Thanksgiving side dish has to be the classic green bean casserole. It is the ultimate comfort food made with very inexpensive ingredients and nearly everyone enjoys it!
I love my job mainly because of the people that I can learn and gain knowledge from! There are so many people with different backgrounds and experiences that everyday is just another day to grow my own knowledge.
I agree with you. We have made all of our house payments (13years) and have raised 4 kids, and live within our means. My husband works insane hours (out of town), for less pay while I finish going to school to become a nurse. We are now living paycheck to paycheck... after being RESPONSIBLE, contributing adults for many years (who have taken a hard hit in this economy), we're wondering why we can't have our mortgage rate cut?
My favorite Thanksgiving budget meal is shepards pie! I usually add a little hot pepper and bacon bits in the meat and chedder cheese in the mashed potatoes. OMG! It's amazing! Always a hit at any gathering! YUUUUM!!
My favorite thing about my job is the quiet. I'm very, very busy at work, but there aren't many deadlines for me so people tend to leave me alone and as long as things are getting done, they tend to forget that I'm even here.

I love that it's only 20 hours a week, but pays enough to live on... I hate that I don't qualify for benefits.

I'm a substitute teacher. I love the flexibility it allows me, and also the variety.
