I have often thought of a professional career as something built brick by brick, climbed ladder rung by ladder rung until one reached the pinnacle, enjoyed the view, and, then, retired. But I have known at least a few people who may have stopped short of the peak, either intentionally or as the result of outside circumstances, stepped down, and pursued a different kind of working life. Can downsizing your career make you happy?

In my journey from being a North American Entrepreneur to a Professional Hobo, I had to shed a lot of crap. For the purposes of this article I will focus on the process (which proved to be quite effective) of shedding the physical junk that clutters our lives. This process is great not only for people wanting to make drastic changes in their lives like I did, but also for the average bear who needs to downsize the amount of stuff they have.
