It has only been a year or so since the dog food scare that left pet owners frustrated, scared, and in some cases, heartbroken. The contaminated wheat gluten and rice protein found to be the culprit have long since gone away, but payment for this bizarre incident is now due. Crocs escalator update: $7 million lawsuit filed

More news from the dangerous world of Crocs shoes. It was reported by the Daily News yesterday that a $7 million lawsuit has been filed by the parents of an injured 3yr old girl. Her big toe was mangled in an escalator accident at JFK airport back in November of 2007, and her angry parents want Crocs to pay.

Kmart settles: refunds gift-card fees

CNNMoney.com has announced that Kmart has finally reached a settlement in the gift-card lawsuit. And that could be very good news for you if you had a gift-card issued between May 1st 2004 and the present day.

Why the refund? Well, since 2003 Kmart failed to disclose sufficiently the $2.10 per month dormancy fee that would be charged RETROACTIVELY after 24 months. Basically, your entire gift card could be wiped out if you tried to use it for the first time after 24 months and it was worth about $50 or less.
