Go check your electricity meter box. Is the wheel turning and clicking over, recording your power usage? Probably. Now go back inside, and turn everything off. The lights, the coffee maker - even the fridge - and check your meter again. Is it still turning and clicking? It probably is, if even a little bit.
You are a victim (and wanton consumer) of standby power. And you are paying dearly for it, in more ways than one.

You've no doubt seen the question in many different forms. Sometimes it's, "What would you do if you learned you were going to die tomorrow?" Other times it's "What would you do if you knew you'd live a hundred years?" Some people try to pack the whole thing into one exhortation, "Live like you were going to die tomorrow, plan like you'd live forever." It's always bugged me.

Once in a while friends and relatives would visit my family from other countries, and we usually go to the airport to pick them up. The problem is that sometimes flights are delayed, and we would end up driving around the airport for half an hour or pay for expensive airport parking. Fortunately, there are several sites where you can check for airport conditions and whether or not a certain flight is delayed.

So far, I have covered two pay for content sites called Bukisa and Associated Content in part one and two of this series. Both of these sites allows a wide range of content, but the pay systems vary. You also have to do a fair amount of promotion to be successful on these sites. Today I am reviewing an extremely popular site called eHow.com where you can receive a share of ad revenue for writing short how-to articles.

I started writing online in 2007 at my personal blog and have not stopped since. I am very fortunate to have been selected to join Wise Bread last year and I have made a steady amount of gas and food money from blogging since then. A lot of my friends have asked me how to earn money online with their writing, and oftentimes they are deterred by the process of setting up and marketing their own blogs. So I decided to research the various websites where people can sell content online and review each of them one by one. Today I am reviewing Bukisa, a relatively new pay for content / ad revenue sharing site.

We have all read about the usual personal finance tips being offered by the writers of the personal finance blogs around the internet and from the experts on television. They usually end up meshing somewhere along the line with information that includes the importance of setting a budget, tracking your spending, and establishing an emergency fund. While that advice is all valuable and true, there are some other things you should be doing that will keep you financially strong.
