For the Love of Ramen: An Interview with Ed from RamenRamenRamen.net

When I brainstorm for cheap eats I often think of packets of ramen. Today I had the pleasure of interviewing Ed from ramenramenramen.net. Ed reviews hundreds of types of ramen on his website and I consider him to be a folk hero to ramen lovers everywhere. Ramen is usually more than just a flavor packet and dried noodles and Ed has a great ramen glossary to explain the complexities in real ramen. Read on for some interesting ramen facts!

Will alerted me that the inventor of instant noodles, Momofuku Ando, died over the weekend. I was sorry to hear it; mind you, the man was 96 years old.

Is Momofuku not the greatest name ever?

Ramen has been a long time favorite of mine, harkening back to my childhood, when they were an easy snack with what seemed at the time, like an exotic twist. I was allowed to eat them with chopsticks, an honor not bestowed upon very many other foods in our household, although twirling the noodles around a fork was equally delightful. My favorite flavor was, and probably still is, pork.
