Paul - I agree that it's hard to invest when you're tackling student loans. Certainly, getting gifted a stock is an ideal scenario. But if market returns exceed the interest on the loans, you may be OK investing rather than looking to pay off loans early.
I quite agree with your assessment. I used to sell aircraft to Thai Airways and visited many times. I love the Thai people. I also lived in Shanghai and much prefer Thailand.
I think I'd like to retire in Spain because it's where I'm originally from and I love the people and the spirit of the place. For me right now, the most important thing to consider is where I'd like to be, but perhaps I'll consider other factors later, as I get older.
I want to retire somewhere in Maine. I went there once a few years back and it was the calmest, most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. I want a cabin and I want to be in nature and I want to be perfectly close and far from civilization.
Somewhere where it doesn't snow much, but has 4 seasons; near an airport that is easy to travel from, and near my children and hopefully grandchildren!
I have a similar strategy. I wear a lot of button-down shirts for work, which tend to be quite stiff and uncomfortable when line drying, but run the risk of excessive shrinking and damage from the dryer. So what I do is leave them on the line until they are completely dry, then throw them in the dryer on LOW heat with a fabric softener sheet for 20-30 minutes. No shrinking, no fabric degradation, and they come out silky smooth.
We live on the East Coast and LOVE the Southwest. Sedona was highest on our list until recently. Now we're thinking of retiring among the red rocks of Utah.
My idea
In General, There are two stages to induce eliminate the annoying very little gnats.
1. dominant the Gnats – it’s the method of knowing a way to management the gnats by characteristic their breeding sources and destroying the breeding sources so going away solely the adult gnats. This helps to stay the gnats population on top of things while not permitting them to extend.
2.Exterminating or killing gnats – it’s the method of eliminating adult gnats that ar left when cleanup and destroying their breeding sources. this can be a crucial method in obtaining obviate gnats from your house since we tend to had already destroyed the breeding place of gnat and going away them no place to get eggs and hatch.
You should bring your own toiletries. Particularly if you are so sensitive, but really I dislike people helping themselves to mine. Next visit you will find water in the bathroom and not much else.
I am commenting from the perspective of a ex wife who was married for 25 years and
my husband was leading a double life going to escorts on his business trips with his boss. I divorced him and a few months later he was engaged to a much younger woman
who had a young child and was also divorced. He bought her a big house and heard they
got married by justice of the peace but then a few months later filed for Catholic annulment against me, lied to a priest and annulment was granted. He is getting married in a large cathedral and inviting over 200 people. Also having multiple showers,
and wife is registered for gifts all very expensive including fine china and crystal. His boss is in the wedding and my daughter is a bridesmaid ( She's 21). The wedding is very
similar to our first marriage. Flower girls , large wedding party. It's absolutely humiliating for me since they have been married legally for over a year. I'm 52 and my
ex is 51. I just find it tacky and heartless.

I would like to stay in the same area but downsize and then spend a few months a year traveling.
Costa Rica! The cost of living is cheap and the flights to and from the U.S. are cheap!
Really don't know at this point in my life. Maybe build a smaller home in current location or go further south for more moderate weather.
I would like to retire on the road... just travelling the back roads in a four wheel drive RV.
I want to be near family, so I'll probably retire right around where I am now, in Ohio.
Pints Cana, DR or Belize
I want to retire to California.

I just read the article about retiring for half the cost, and any of those places seem wonderful, I have my eye on Malta though :)

I would like to retire where I live now, but ideally in a smaller house with a vacation house in a location we have been going to for years.

Thank you so much for sharing!
I would like to retire where I am now, in South Florida, since I don't want to battle the snow and cold.

Florida or somewhere else warm, with beaches, and no state income tax.
I would like to retire in New Zealand. Not sure if that's even feasible but it is a dream of mine
