You must redeem your rewards at a Costco store, but you can redeem your reward certificate for cash, if you wish. I always do that, because paying for goods with your rewards doesn't earn you cash back on that purchase.
My beach cart was my best investment! The best $50 I have ever spent. It's probably 10 yrs old, and used every weekend in the summer. I no longer break my back trying to carry chair, cooler, umbrella, beach bag, etc. And I guess my 457 plan at work. :)
My best investment thus far in life has been my electric toothbrush. It cost $100 10 years ago, and I buy a new pack of heads every year for $20. Having nice clean teeth allows me to shine my smile every day at work and in social gatherings. It has also kept me away from needing to spend money on fillings or other dental work. Investing in ones health has countless benefits that I know I will especially appreciate as I get older, and would recommend to anyone!
I have a Sony RDR-VX555 DVD Recorder. How do I make it region free to play dvd''s, if I need to purchase them from over seas, because their are out of print in the US?
By luck, our best investment has been our house. We were able to buy a great house at a very reasonable price and the current value is twice what we paid.
My best investment has been towards education, both mine and for my children. Through scholarships and hard work, the family now has members with lots of letters after their names and successful careers.
Great tips, wish we prepared ourselves when we moved in. We're getting billed for outrageous stuff, $375 to trim a bush. Yes, one bush. The rest of the yard consists of rocks. It was required that we have the carpets shampooed, and that we provide a receipt. Fine, though the carpets are over 6 years old. They replaced them. We were to busy trying to move out and prepare for my husband's departure, so we hired Merry Maids to clean the kitchen and bathrooms. Wasn't good enough. We got a $300 housekeeping fee for dirt in the front door's threshold, dirt/dust that collects under the window groove (you can only see it when you open the window). Oh, they also included the housekeeping fee for after they remodeled the house. Because, yes, we caused all the ensuing dust, scuffs and marks from them replacing the carpet and putting in vinyl flooring in. (FYI - the landlord decided to sell her house.)
I mean, sure...we were only loyal tenants for five years, never late on payments or anything. I mean, she's only had that property for 10 years...and has had three previous tenants before us. Nope, not worth a damn thing.
My best investment was buying and paying for a home back in the early 2000's! I had to end up selling it due to a divorce and been struggling living month to month every since! I wish I could afford to buy my own home again instead of renting!
Unfortunately this deal expired before publication, but still download the app. You might not get a free item right off the bat, but you will earn free food through regular spending. Cheers!
I'm not sure if my comment was deleted but really quickly:
My education cost $15,000 and gave me the start to a career where I can make multiples of that.
My first purchase of stock was in Berkshire Hathaway and gave me the confidence to keep investing as it has doubled in value since!
My best investment that I paid money for is my college degree ringing up at around $15000 in tuition and books. It gave me a toehold into my career and I've more than earned back the initial investment.
My other best investment was my first stock purchase ever: I bought some shares of Berkshire Hathaway and they have doubled in value. More importantly, that gave me the confidence to keep investing in my brokerage account and retirement accounts. Too bad I didn't buy more!
The reason is clear
At least in my case
I want to start my own business but
I like to use my package, unemployment benefits and insurance that I'm paying for my mortgage
It will give me a six months head start
But it wasn't zero IF you invested in stocks that paid dividends. 3.5-4.5%+ return every year and it comes out to a tidy sum! And the advise I always give people are stocks are for the long haul- 15-20 years minimum.
Scammer selling and/or looking for a forever home for a puppy or young dogs. I am finding that they cannot talk because they are at work - text only! Also, they are posing that they left the state to take another job in another State but could deliver the puppy / dog via dog carrier! Scammer everywhere trying to make a dollar
Awesome article! I totally agree but sometimes I think it can be important to have at least a part-time job. When I was attending university I worked a part time job at the front desk and it certainly helped me make some walk around money that was steady. Also a lot of the time with these jobs you can make your own schedule.
Another thing I did where I made a surprising amount of money was just selling my used books and dvds and stuff online. Here is the link of the site I used if anyone is interested: https://www.bonavendi.com/ its free and basically you could sell just about anything and it does a price comparison from different sites to show which will offer you the most money for your stuff.
I would also recommend being productive and joining a lot of extracurricular clubs and intramural sports if that is something you are into. I think in college you really find out how important it is to meet people and network, I made some money doing freelance work for a production company simply because I made friends with a guy whose dad owned the company. I would never have met him if I wasnt involved in a entrepreneurial club at my university. I would def recommend getting involved.
This article was great, if you take advantage of this stuff you will be fine! and have multiple means of income.

Our best investment has been the home we bought in 1972 and sold in 2005 for over 6 times what we paid for it.

Our biggest investment was our home. It put us on a tight budget, but it paid off. We could never afford the house now, 17 years later.
saving the max amount in 401k every year.

My career! I took 2 years off of the working world and went to graduate school. I tripled my salary when I graduated. Seems to be paying off so far!
