  • 13 Holiday-Season Costs Everyone Always Forgets About   9 years 31 weeks ago

$50 is way too much to fill one stocking for the holidays.. And you said you had to fill two..That's like a present....
Each. I wouldn't spend more than $10 on a stocking stuffers each..I thought that you're suppossed to help us save our $$$ as well..$50 a stocking isn't normal..

  • 9 Things You Can Do Right Now for a Frugal Holiday Season   9 years 31 weeks ago

I don't agree with parts of this article..it actually gives some very horrible advice..for instance you need to stay to a strict amount for each person because of the finances and just in case they see one another's gift. On Christmas is not the best feeling for a person to feel shortchanged..also I do not believe in skipping lunches and lattes to buy what you think are expensive gifts..if I have to to go without eatting and drinking then they don't need a gift..I also don't agree with charging gifts.. I thought that you were suppossed to write an article on helping us save money this isn't it..do you know how many bills credit card bills would come around with you thinking buyer's remorse..now the bright lights are down and I have to pay these bills now.. I recommend just paying cash for presents..that way you won't feel so horrible when it's all over. Also have you seen the store return lines after Christmas with people returning your gifts that you still have to pay for after they've returned them is not a good look..I also don't believe in shopping early like in months in advance either..not even weeks in advance either for have found some awesome deals @ the last minute that otherwise would not have been there..online shopping I wouldn't recommend either because if your loved one doesn't like it then they have to pay to send it back and that's very frustrating as well. Maybe you have decided that you had to just make up different points to make an article but it is just executed in the wrong way.

  • 5 Money Rules That'll Save You Big in Baby's First Year   9 years 31 weeks ago

I don't agree with you not having a second baby shower because of selfish reasons like what is like socially acceptable or not.. That's hogwash. Who cares what is socially acceptable these days..it's not like you're robbing a bank or something..it's madness..it would be fun and cool to have a cute little girls baby shower.. Omg how cool that would be..and you could a lot of cute and lovely goodies for your bundle of joy instead tofu your friends just letting you borrow stuff..I mean how low brow is that..I'm serious..you want fresh New items because you don't know the condition of the baby before In used items..you see your friend gathered a big bag of fresh clothes for $15..you should've told her to get you a bag..I don't understand..now when your kid in the belly when they get older and sees pics of the other child in your belly @ your baby shower will now feel insecure and ask why didn't I get a baby shower..it's not a good feeling..your answer will it's just not what we did back then is not acceptable.. I also don't understand the fact about buying clothes on sale beforehand and your child not growing into them. It seems like you've been missing the growth marks because the clothes that I have bought for babies have fit them perfectly. You do know it's perfectly ok to put Kids in items before the label targets don't you..I just don't understand your strategy.. I think that it's a horrible idea..usually normal people just have a baby shower and buy what they didn't get at it.. It doesn't make sense. Also when people are fixing to have their third child is when they usually say no baby shower so You're really shortchanging yourself this time around..☺

I would have told myself to have taken better care of my teeth. I wish I didn't have so many cavities and crowns because a little bit of prevention would have saved a lot of money and pain!

I'd tell my younger self to hang in there because it will get better. Oh, and to save as much money as possible because you're going to need it!

  • 12 Everyday Money Tasks You've Been Doing Wrong   9 years 31 weeks ago

Be careful about number 10, it doesn't always pay to be too pushy. I worked in retail for 16 years, and yes, many people badger their way into a discount. If you antagonize the salesperson, however, they won't tell you about ways to save money you don't know about. For instance, one retailer I worked for offered a 30 day price match if something went on sale. If I had a good working relationship with a customer, I would often quietly call them to explain the policy and let them know their item went on sale. Because I was selling doors and windows, this could equate to thousands of dollars in savings.

  • 11 Simple Rules of Excellent Houseguest Etiquette   9 years 31 weeks ago

Please help.....I live in a house in a complex and parking space is very limited. I can probably accommodate 3 cars before they start blocking the neighbours. It is my daughter's party on Saturday, how do i politely ask people to park outside the complex gate and walk the 10m or so to the house so I'm not not causing a traffic jam?

I don't want to sound un-welcoming or like they aren't "good enough" to drive in..

I would teach my younger self how to budget.

Things like 28% on housing or 4% of housing cost per year for household repairs are not concepts I was familiar with. These days I am playing catch up because I didn't realize banks will let you borrow way more than it is wise to.

Are you sure they don't pay property taxes? I hadn't heard that before. No, they don't pay for health insurance, but they have to pay for medical care without the help of insurance.

  • Top 7 Reasons Why I Use My Credit Card for Everything   9 years 31 weeks ago

Low interest rates don't even matter to people who pay their full bill each month. If the APR is 0% or 10000% doesn't have any sway on a person who pays the full statement balance each month. I don't even look at interest rates because I know that I will never use a credit card to pay for anything that I don't already have the money to buy. To me (and the other cheapskate deadbeats), credit cards are all just a means to get extra cash rewards and discounts on necessities. I love getting paid to do something that I was already going to do!

Either someone lied to your brother or you are lying to us.

  • Top 7 Reasons Why I Use My Credit Card for Everything   9 years 31 weeks ago

Did you not bother to read the article? Of course we don't spend any more on a credit card than we would on a debit card! That would be stupid. Credit cards make everything cost LESS. Saving anywhere from 1%-5% on things we would purchase anyway is smarter than saving nothing by using a debit card, cash, or checks.

Then if you have checked baggage use that to hold your razors. Or if visiting family or friends then buy a razor in that town and leave it for your next visit when you only have carryon luggage. If you are on vacation then buy the cheapest brand your skin can tolerate and hope it isn't confiscated. C.
