First off I just want to say that this article was very helpful. My friend suggested an aquatic frog to me as a low maintenance pet, but I wasn't sure exactly what kind. So thank you for clearing that up!
Secondly, I want to throw my opinion out there about all the controversy over keeping wild animals captive. People will always look at caged animals and feel bad for them because that is a situation that we personally would not want to be in, but do animals think like humans? No. We don't know how or what they think, and we're quite a long ways from knowing. All animals, including ourselves, live for the ultimate goal of breeding. In that sense, I feel that it is wrong to keep wild animals because they cannot fulfill that lifelong goal.
In any case, don't apply our human morals to animals. I agree that it is always better for an animal to be out in the wild rather than in an enclosure, but it isn't a crime at all to want one as a pet. If anything it helps to educate us and give us a stronger sense of compassion for the quickly disappearing creatures in this world. I do wish that sellers would be more strict about who receives what animals though and have a more limited variety. I'm tired of hearing about all of the full-up animal shelters that have to constantly put animals down. :(
Just remember that if you are to purchase a typically-wild animal, try your best to mimic their natural habitat as closely as possible. READ BEFORE YOU BUY!!!
I just want to put my 2 cents into this netspend issue. I get a chick from the government every month and its put directly on to the card and the best thing is its done a few days early. So you folks that are complaining about netspend you don't know how much of a help it is.
Used snowboards fall under this category as well and I always recommend to beginning snowboarders that buying a used snowboard will save you a lot of money.
And just like you said with skis, snowboards also lose all of their "new" qualities (gloss and shine) after the first run so there's really no reason to make such a big investment when you don't even know how much you're going to like the sport.
I've made pillowcase dresses for my daughter & nieces as well as matching outfits for their dolls, matching hair ribbons and bags...if purchased each set would be +$50, made at home...less than $10 each!
Thanks, Sasha & Guest for your comments. I'm considering doing this exercise annually, and possibly even comparing my results to see how my perspective (or tick list) has changed over time. Hmm....
I was wondering what your thoughts are on this. For me, I'm quite happy that the elders are finally being listened to! We aren't all myths and legends! cwa cwa! :P
I'm also a type 2 diabetic... and is quite a lucky one at that. when I was diagnosed at 15, the doctors were "amazed" at how lucky I was because my levels were over 100 (my god... my mother boasts about it and to be quite frank it's annoying). then 5 days later I was out of the hospital, on insulin then until early-mid september I was on metformin. However, due to the stress of university and "interesting" people, my levels have begun to rise (and christmas... ARGHL christmas... those shortbread cookies... -lovingly looks at them- haha) to about 11-23 and have decided to try out the cinnamon and green tea trick. well it dropped from 11.9 to about a safer 7.8 twenty minutes after (though my levels were still high the next day).
Thanks for making this article Andrea! it really helped me and many others!
@Tim - Thanks! Although the effort required to track expenses is why so many budgets fail, it is truly the first step to becoming financially aware. If people aren't prepared to track their expenses, then I would argue that they don't want to create a budget badly enough.
Congratualtions Jeff on going the distance on your marriage. I love the way you've managed to turn a negative into a positive and any way we all need something to talk about!!
Thanks everyone, I'm always eager to learn new repair tricks! So I thought I would share one that few people know and many refuse to believe.
If you have small scratches on the other side of your discs and they've scratched through the data foil you may think there's no hope. Surprise! Depending of course on the size (particularly the width) of the scratches they may be very fixable, especially CDR's and ones with minimal graphics.
First hold the cd up in front of a light to see how big and where, then you take a PILOT BRAND extra fine point silver marker/paint pen (the one you have to shake and press the tip into itself, ya know?)and gently fill in the scratches. **If you push too hard sometimes it will look filled but will leave gaps underneath, then it's a goner.** I've only ever used that particular pen so it's the only one i can recommend. I've been doing this since 2006 and I'd estimate around 65-80% success rate! Happy New Year!!! :-)
I also recommend EA Sports wii for a good workout. It comes with two exercise bands and you actually break out a sweat doing these workouts. It has thirty day plan as well as other workouts for a harder workout than the wii fit. It is wii fit compatible so you can use the wii fit board and track your weight on it as well, but the wii fit board is not required.
I don't know if WalMart is in the process of discontinuing its fabric section, but I can still get it in mine.
And I love the ideas here---cloth napkins do sound easy, and the duvet cover is a great idea! I'll have to try that one, when the sewing machine is repaired . . . I've been wanting to give the bedroom a new look for ages!
Very glad to see that "Artists" made your list, considering the first thing I saw when I saw your picture is "oooo, I'd love to draw that pile of junk!" Aside from scrap metal for sculpturists, artists and painters enjoy any kind of animal bones or taxidermied animal, large collections of similar objects (small stones, leaves, or shells for example), and scraps fancy papers. But artists are so drawn to these types of things that they are themselves often overwhelmed with clutter! :(
Also a note about recycling - check your city's municipal website. Ours has a directory (tied to google map for easy locating) for what you can dispose of or recycle and where. It even includes schools and used bookstores that will accept books!

Thank you! This brought me to tears for some reason. I think because it will give me more reasons to keep on and not lay down and die. Thank you...thank you...thank you!
Sorry I messed that last comment up. Carmax.com will sell the car for you or if they do not want/need the car they will find a buyer. You may take a few thousand dollars loss but that can be paid in no time and you are out from under a loan that could go on for years. I made a mistake and purchased TWO cars at once!! What a dumb a@@. One payment for the Acura TL Type-S is $725.00 and a Dodge Charger RT is $499.00 a month. I know how you feel and that is minus insurance, gas, upkeep...
Have you thought about Carmax? They will sell the car or you at no cost to you. Actually, they buy it i they want it. Google it and see i one is near you. Just a thought.

Hi. I was looking for some resources for my paper on the Oji-Cree and the effects of diabetes it has on them, and I happen to stumble upon this.

Be careful about adding resistance to your furnace's air flow. That can affect its efficiency, and is generally not recommended.
